Dr Sb touched a few important points one of them is "Yaksan Nisaab" that he feels will push us back not forward. Nisaab should open minds and free thinking. This is possible only under a secular curriculum, that requires a secular constitution. Won’t happen. The military-mullah-feudal alliance will not give up their power and want Pakistanis to be poor, less educated and not challenge the status quo. When people become educated, they can challenge things and that is why Pakistani state won’t allow real education to be a fundamental right and works on it. In Pakistan, there are multiple power centers and parallel governments - one is so called civilian and state governments and the other is military. Military threatens democratic elected representatives that if they are not given their share, they may kill them or stop fighting for the Pakistani cause. As one India leader said, most countries have a military to protect them and serve them, but in Pakistan a military has a country to serve it.

The idea behind single curriculum is not bad; to provide equal opportunities for all, both urdu and english medium students. To narrow the gap between these groups. In the present system, urdu medium students lag far behind those who study in English medium schools. However, it has its pros and cons. I believe the core curriculum, could be the same until say about class 5 or 8. But beyond that, students who are more gifted or brighter than others should have opportunities to excel in their subjects of interest

@@goldenAsif but it will not work untill you do that in the language people speaks and understand more. Half of Pakistani speaks Punjabi other half speaks Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi and Urdu. Just give the education in their mother tongue it's not that hard.

Bhai Unlike India (where many south Asians do not speak or understand Hindi), EVERONE in Pakistan speaks and understands the national language, Urdu, (or at least basic Urdu; hence there is no communication issue between regions) be it Punjabi, Balochi, Sindhi, Pakhtoon, from Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmiri or migrants from India (....even if their preferred language at home is Punjabi or Pushto, etc.). Punjabis make up 45-50% of the population, hence you see them more on TV and elsewhere. Most of the popular TV dramas are still Karachi-based and many top actors, comedians, and models are Urdu-speaking. Umar Sharif for instance was Urdu speaking.

Pakistan is not a normal country is what the doctor said. The problem is that it being abnormal not only impacts its people but neighbors too. The devious mentality of its leaders/military and lack of democracy, wanting to be a client state of a power, allowing itself to be a rentier state for $$ and lack of human rights in Baluchistan and KP or occupied Kashmir are big problems. It is a mentality issue, takes long time to cure the mentality. Along the way, neighbors will continue to suffer because the leaders of this country are saying to the world - we will do what we want to, however we seem fit, you have to pay for that, and the world has to deal with the repurcussions.

At some point in the 90s, Panjabi army generals planned the disintegration of Afghanistan and integrating the 60% pashtun part of Afghanistan into Pakistan to create “greater Pakistan” but the plan was abandoned. The reason was that it will result in a Pashtoon majority and reduce the Panjabi influence. This was exactly the reason behind the break away of east Pakistan, Pakistan was always Panjabistan where other nations are treated like second or third class citizens.
