Thank you for the wonderful recipe Anna .. but in the recipe for the buttercream, it's written that there is a pinch of salt but I'm not sure if you're using salt for the frosting as you didn't mention any salt! Could you please advise? Thank you so much 💕

Dear Anna , just wanted to say thank you , over the years I lost my health and mobility and struggled to bake, in the UK we use grams, kilo, pounds and ounces for all our recipes which can be fiddly, I started watching your series on TV, Anna Olsen Bakes and found you so calming and easy to follow your recipes, o made your chocolate cake and my family , my grand kids thought it was the best cake they've ever tasted . Funny story. During Christmas last year I bought it by accident because it was on sale (the reg cocoa powder was not). I thought it was the reg cocoa powder just in a Dark flavor (that's what the label shows). I didn't have my reading glasses so of course I didn't see the fine print where it states it's Dutch process cocoa powder. I baked a few recipes that specifically said *Not* to use that type. Turned out to be a happy accident because my bakes came out perfectly... 😄

The cakes (3): 1,5 oz chocolate 3/4 cup coffee 1,5 cup sugar 1,25 a/p flour 3/4 cup cacao 1 tsp soda 1/2 tsp of powder 1/2 tsp of salt 6 tbsp of oil 3/4 cup of Buttermilk 1 tsp of vanilla 1 egg and 1 egg white Bake at 350F , 30 minutes Italian buttercream: 6 egg whites 1 tbsp of Vanilla 1/2 cup of water 1 1/2 cup of sugar 2 cups + 6 tbsp of butter 4 oz Dark chocolate 2 cups of fresh berries Red food coloring
