It's funny because they really did have a chip on their shoulder in 2014, it was barely a year after their debut so they had a lot to prove, and a lot of people were shitting on them from all corners of the industry for various reasons.. It's actually really nice to see them perform it so long afterwards and the different flavour they bring to it! You can see videos of they re-learning the choreo, some still have it mostly down, some need more time but you see them remembering in in bursts ^^

This and danger! Maximum intensity The performance you watched is from 2019 the dance practice is from 2014. In 2019 for the award shows they brought back their old songs.

this is one of their their early days (2014), i feel old🥲🤧 they debuted when i was in third grade, boy in luv came out when i was in my fourth grade🤧 they were my youth, and until now i'm still with these seven boys that still knows how and when to look back at their humble beginnings

I'm glad that you checked the years bc yeah! For one they had to completely relearn it (there had way too many choreos since 2014 to remember this one), to sing while doing it and in all honesty in 2019 they were already leaning into personal styles rather than perfect synchronicity of early days. It's still amazing to watch how they do this or Danger, they literally polished it to perfection, no matter the level of the dancer no one was supposed to stand out as a weak link. But this machine-like precision is more suited to younger groups, they have the stamina to do it and honestly not much past that. I love how personalized their dancing is now, it's like yeah we are not a dancing crew we are all-around entertainers and enjoying it. That's another flavor but I love the progression!

When this came out with the M/V, this was the start of when BTS started to get fully recognized in South Korea. This choreo was so popular and original at the time, so all the South Korean dance groups/company who did any hip-hop were covering it. You'd see it all over the place including dance competitions. They only got bigger from here.

They definitely had a lot to prove in those days! 🔥🔥🔥💜💜💜 The practice video is from 2014 but the performance video is from 2019 at an award where they had a very intense 40 mins segment, by the way.

They had to prove themselves against all the artists being promoted from the Big 3 labels in South Korea at the time. Them coming from a then small label that bordered bankruptcy, they barely had money for promotion, so when they had the opportunity to be seen they made the most of it. Dance routines back then were very aggressive. They've grown and their style have changed, so they can still give and do difficult choreography but not go as hard as they needed to back then, but still not lose the fact that they give 100% everyone they hit the stage.

That’s JK not V. V is in the second line to RM’s right. JK has the ornamental white stitching on his jacket and then, of course, it’s his voice we hear at that moment. Check out the actual performance which has close ups.

@@ag1445 no, he’s talking about V switching the mic in his hand while JK is singing @ 10:11secs. You get another good look at it at 8:50

@@whk3120 JK sings from about 10:06 to 10:18. He makes the comment about mics at 10:13. Even though V does change mics at the same time as JK it is JK he is referring to since he is front and centre and singing. That’s where he would be looking. He demonstrated this at 11:34 clearly using JK as an example of the mic going from hand to hand. Clearly all the boys are very experienced by this stage and can all do it if required.

I appreciate that you watch and react to their dance practice videos...highly recommended cause you can see the whole dance and appreciated the choreography more. Their dance steps are hard but they all make it look like its easy. I love the switching of fast to slow movements....they have mastered and executed them flawlessly. If you try to pause the video you can see that they still are in sync position...and yes thank you for reacting to BTS.

In 2014 when the dance practice video made they age is RM and Hobi: 19 years old Jin:21 years old Suga: 20 years old Jimin and v : 18 years old JungKook: 17 years old And in 2023 they have RM: 28 years old Hobi: 29 years old in 18 February Jin: 30 years old Suga: 29 years old Jimin and V: 27 years old JungKook: 25 years old and in 2013 RM and Hobi: 18 years old Jin:20 years old Yoongi: 19 years old Jimin and V:17 years old JungKook:16 years old This crazy how they grown up together so fast in 10 years You say they probably the same height but you a wrong because Jimin is the shortest in the group 1.73M and RM is the tallest of the group 1.84M

I think other Armys have pretty much covered comments I was going to make: school uniform as from school trilogy era, range of heights, 2014 needing to prove themselves,. 2019 performance RM did this straight after an intense solo performance so them knowing how to pace their performance in order to both sing and dance is important. Consummate professionals. 💜

Kinda sad you chose their more recent performance of this and not back when came back with it…. They all had it so down and ingrained back when they were initially advertising, and I feel like you could absolutely tell… like the intensity from that year was so blatant and in your face. Passion and fury… eh…. Guess it just shows that like the feeling behind it can effect overall performance as well. This isn’t me saying the more recent version is bad, it was super nice to see them perform it again, i just do believe if you want to see it in its rawest most solid manner the older videos do it more justice… it’s the very purposeful and concise hits. You could just tell they had that shit firmly ingrained in their minds.
