What a beautiful day, I must have missed it. Good to see some of the ammonite pavement is still surviving, although some of has gone, its still well worth a visit.

Very interesting! Beautiful scenery! Is there anything being done to preserve the cliffs and the fossils?
@LymeRegisFossils Жыл бұрын
The ammonite pavement was quite a large area, but it’s been eroded away rapidly by the sea 🌊! It’s a protected site for everyone to see at low tide . I have fossils I’ve found that are good enough to be in the local Lyme Regis museum, and the Cardiff Museum and elsewhere . The cliffs constantly collapse and erode away here. In 4,000 years a mile and a half of the coastline had disappeared around Golden Cap .

Hi there, we have an ammonite fossil found at Lyme Regis which is a lovely 5" pyrite specimen. It's got what looks like a shiny mud looking stone encasing it. However hard I try I can't get this stone off?! Any tips please?
@LymeRegisFossils Жыл бұрын
That’s a good fossil find then - well done . It might be iron pyrite encasing it ? Which you can’t get off well at all ?
@stuarthill853 Жыл бұрын
@@LymeRegisFossils yes it's like a grey sparkly mud that's coating it, really hard stuff!

Another lovely video👍....hope the weather will be like that for us in 4 weeks time ...with good low tides😃. Hope the crows🦅 didn't make a meal of your baguette ...as it didn't look like a "cost of living one" 🤔.We hope to see you then (Trudie has her sieve already to go!!🤣😂)

Great see you in a number of weeks down on the Jurassic Coast- at low tide. That wasn’t a cost of living baguette 🥖 you’ve got me there! So that was protected under the rucksack 🎒 😂
