How should be a professional guitar for you? Cheers guys!

The FGN seems to offer the most value for money - a guitar built in the same Japanese factory, and by the same luthiers, that produce the Ibanez AZ Professional range and many of the Fender Japan guitars (FGN also helped set up the Fender Mexican plant).

I'd say it has to have stainless steel frets, locking tuners, a TUSQ nut, upgraded bridge, Ebony fretboard, and nice pickups.

I liked the competitors better than the Fender! My favourite would be the FGN!

As long as a guitar stays in tune, has your personal preference of guage+action, and has a fitting type of pickup for the music (humbucker, singlecoil etc) thats all that is needed really.

I wonder why would you pick a floyd rose guitar even if the same model exists without one? Anyway to my ears the Fender is a step ahead as the more balanced one. Controlled mids, crystalline highs and tight lows. Worst of the bunch (but only by a little) the FGN due to slightly muddy pickups. One proposition: wouldn't it be better with a proper amp and a microphone instead of interface? Great review as always. Thank you

Floyd Rose or not is just personal preference... Nothing is wrong with having it or not... I love Floyd Roses for the range of pitch, and they stay in tune really good even after heavy use.

Floyd Rose is a great bridge, especially the original one. Of course it's a matter of personal taste, but lately it got some hate and I think it should be considered a nice choice, especially for 80s tones. The tone you're hearing are coming from my Marshall with the torpedo captors, so it's all tube analog tone juice apart from the IRS. Of course it would be nice to record in the old way with mics and everything bit I can't be that loud. Also, swear it's not so easy to distinguish the hybrid setup from a mic'd one. Cheers!

@@TheGuitalian Good to know I hear a valve amp.

@@cederickforsberg5840 Agreed. You probably mean that a fr is not a huge impact to the final outcome. Also agreed

Your set up is the best I've heard for an honest reflection of the pure sound of the guitar. I'm no expert and certainly not a strat fan but it just sounds discernibly different to the others ...like a classic strat sound. If you like that sort of thing.

very nice video but you forgot to mention the thickness of the FGN's neck

I'm considering one of these atm - but hate chunky necks - is this something I should worry about? No-one stocks in my part of the country so I would be buying blind...
