Maybe its just me but those old bulbs appear more "Festive". But then its a personal choice thing. Also the fancy leds appear nice when seen from a street. But most of the time, the owners/resident family are in the house. As a owner I'd rather step outside on the patio and feel more festive than see some fancy lights that will become redundant after a couple days. Also, getting up and putting those lights contribute to the build up of the holiday season. Again, just my opinion
@hvacdr2 жыл бұрын
I agree. you also mean nostalgic. Personally I got a rgb 115 ft set on Amazon for 18 bucks that will do most of what his does so it makes no sense to spend over 6,000 dollars on that when ull never get ur money back

I was just thinking about this again the other day(from the first video you did on it) and I could imagine this as part of an alarm system, where if there was a break-in the lights could come on flashing red-blue as if the whole house was surrounded by police cars! anyway, this video isn't quite as detailed as the other one, but this is a quicker more 'to the point' take on it, that is nice because it shows some examples of other houses with systems installed

Too fancy and expensive for me, but the idea is great. I have thought about this this year when I did my girlfriend's then my house. I'd just do hooks where you can't see them, buy cheap app or remote controlled lights, replace them when they quit working, and run it from my deep cycle and 100 watt panel in my shed like I'm doing my Christmas lights and my backyard string lights. It's kind of like cameras and sound systems; you can spend a ton or a little and still get the desired effect.

great feedback! It is a unique look when you have the settings all the way up. Since having them and really diving into the program I've found I like them better than traditional bulbs now. Almost the same when everyone went from traditional bulbs to LED's. I didn't like the light the led's produced.
@Squarebodyshelley3 жыл бұрын
@@pestandlawnginja they need to figure a better solution to under the eve's. Those never match the look and feel as the bulbs are facing down and throws off the look. That's really the only thing I dislike about the look. I think the bulbs are fine but can't see the bulbs good so it is more actual accent mood lighting in those areas vs Christmas feel. Guess my main point is the Christmas lighting aspect of it ain't for me but the mood lighting for other events are perfect 👌

So we ordered Jellyfish lights last week in large part because of this video. After I paid the deposit (which the guy took too much for and then said oops) he then said “Oh they quoted you wrong - your actual price is over 2x the original quote. My question for you is do you still like the lights? I am waiting on a call from their manager tomorrow to discuss path forward.
@pestandlawnginja2 жыл бұрын
Hey Dustin! So far I absolutely love the lights! my kids like that they can see better in the yard at night as well. we all love the ability to change the mood when ever we want. My opinion is this, the customer service aspect of jelly fish isn't the best. matter of fact its the biggest pain point in most peoples decision. but.... the product in my opinion is superior than all the competitors on the market. if you see them side by side its an easy choice if you're in the market. Hope that helps.

@billm16512 жыл бұрын
Many homes have wood soffit and fascia but I have yet to see a person spray them. Typically these are rolled and brushed so it wouldn’t be that hard. Also how often do they get painted? 10 years is extremely overkill.

That lighting will look amazing reflected on snow. Will it up the value on my home? Can they be controlled with xlights?? Xlights is a smart rgb pixel program

Totally agree on the snow reflection. It looks awesome. So the brains of the unit is a unix based system. the other diy kits from pixel does do those types of programing you're referring too. The point I was driving home is the look and feel of the lights range. the tri-led systems emit soo much more light, which i prefer. Others prefer the simple look of the single led. slights is pretty cool. I'm sure the system I have will catch up with technology sooner than later.

Those lights look amazing! I live in a corner house and will most likely have to do three sides of my house. I’m considering getting the three light system like the one you have. How do I measure the linear feet in my house? I head some companies try to deceive homeowners on the measurements. Are you able to negotiate with jellyfish? What would be a fair amount per linear feet for the one bulb system vs the three bulb system? TIA
@pestandlawnginja2 жыл бұрын
hard to get too detailed since I don't work for any of these companies and really don't know. I can tell you that jellyfish ranges between $25 and $30 per linear foot. the competitors range from $17 to $35. my suggestion is try and find someone in your local area that has installed these lights and the competitors lights. some people like the sheer brightness of the jelly fish lights and other people like the calmer look of the competitors lights. jellyfish has done some great updates to there app and its now working remotely as well as updating some of the new colors and settings. as of now no music functionality but i imagine its in the works. As for measuring the linear feet. you'll notice on most homes there is a soffit and you can see how many feet each panel of the soffit is then measure accordingly.

often women can see more shades of colors than men, plus many men are also slightly red/green colorblind and don't even notice it ... but I think in this case the Ginja was talking about preference of 'color temperature' with white light, where you can have 'warm' whites vs 'cool' whites that are both capable of being produced by RGB L.E.D.s so you can change that to adjust it how you want it

If you live in an area with fireflies, please turn off any excess outdoor lighting. Even indoor lighting can impact their mating efforts so try to keep curtains closed when they're "doin' their thing"! This is particularly true of blinking/flickering lights.
