Yeah! My reading/science teacher was like that, as well as my history teacher! They were both super cool, tbh. My science teacher used to put on this super cool show thing near Halloween, where she basically did a bunch of cool magic tricks using science, and my history teacher loved anime (which might be influenced by her daughter in college), and let me ramble on (within reason) about the weird connections I could make between the animes I watch and whatever we were studying in class that day. Both were super cool, and I still try and keep in contact even though I'm homeschooling now.

I felt your warning about the cinnamon... a while ago, we had a problem with mosquitos in the house, I couldn't go out to get proper stuff, so I had to use what I had on-hand, and a google search told me that they can be repelled by the scents of lavender, peppermint, tea tree, eucalyptus, and I forget what else. I had bottles of oils I had gotten for making candles, and thought "a little in a cup by my bed should work." and it did, to a degree. they would still bite my feet though. I had nowhere to stick a cup by the foot of the bed where it wouldn't either spill or be ineffective, so I had an idea. Putting a drop or two on the backs of my hands, neck, and the tops of my feet. First night: lavender oil. seemed to work well. used that for a few days... then I decided to try it with *peppermint oil.* it hurt and burned _quite a bit._ *ESPECIALLY so* on delicate areas like the back of the neck. I'm glad I didn't try cinnamon oil, because it's listed too as a scent mosquitos hate.

5 minute crafts is the worst. They once had a video where they showed you how to make white strawberries, by soaking them in bleach. It was a video for kids, and they intended you to eat them. They also tried to say that you could make spun sugar by spinning melted caramel using a mixer. Which btw, don't do this. You will end up with hospital room grade burns.
@Protocall13o24 жыл бұрын
There’s a video for self defense they did. As someone who’s group of friend teaches martial arts and having taken classes from them, I’m horrified at some of the techniques shown. They do work but it’s missing SO much more components to a lot of those combos that needs to follow after. Like i genuinely am scared that they won’t work to it’s full potential and could lead to a more dangerous situation. Some of their sewing hacks are scary too. Lol.
@jpd15924 жыл бұрын

@camelopardalis844 жыл бұрын
@Intergalactic Pants This may sound like a dumb joke or misplaced comment but this is why I am in no way a libertarian. I am not going to mention here where I fall on the left-right spectrum, but I will say so much: I am so not okay with people just being allowed to do no matter what unless it definitely cause harm that is on top of that really, really bad. No, I say videos like that need to be literally illegal. You can't just make a tutorial-like video aimed at kids full of instructions on how to do potentially dangerous things and then claim that no-one should ever have followed these instructions because "the video wasn't meant to be viewed as a tutorial".

Check out Ann Reardon's channel How to Cook That where she debunks cooking hacks and explains what Blossom, Troom Troom, and 5 minute crafts (the same parent company) really is. They are in it for the money and it isn't about whether the 'hacks' actually work. They have come out with a statement that says so. From Google: 5-Minute Crafts has been a part of the KZbin community since November 2016 and is owned by TheSoul Publishing, a Cypriot company founded by Russian developers Pavel Radaev and Marat Mukhametov that also owns popular content farm channels like BRIGHT SIDE.

It honestly depends on how sensitive your skin is
@raerohan42414 жыл бұрын
CreoleFaerie It’s honestly better not to risk it. Worst case scenario is that it will _literally_ burn your skin, leaving what could potentially be permanent marks
@bookcrazy0014 жыл бұрын
@@raerohan4241 that is only if your skin is EXTREMELY sensitive. If it isn't, cinnamon increases blood circulation, exfoliates the skin, and shrinks pores which is good for your skin. Just exercise proper precaution and test it out on your hands first and look for any reactions. There is no one size fits all to skin care. Everyone is different so what is important is figuring out what works for you. I use cinnamon soap on my face regularly and I don't have any problems. It makes my mom break out. She uses charcoal cleanser which if i use makes my face scaley like a shedding snake. I know ppl that use sugar scrubs and that makes me break out. Projecting your skins preferences on others is not good because we need to acknowledge allergies, skin textures, oil secretions, skin conditions, etc.

As a former child care worker, I'd be worried about small children trying to eat the cinnamon bun soap, an 18 month old doesn't know the difference between soap and a cinnamon bun. Just as there were small children eating Tide pods at first because they didn't put them into the proper container. Some parents might not think to keep them hidden from children. A glass jar is great for company, but not for small children.

But they are weary of it causing trace in soap. Also apparently using the power makes the soap super scratchy! I definitely wouldn’t use cinnamon unless I was a professional though,- If I was a newbie I’d stay as far as I can from using it in soap in case I use the wrong measurements and hurt myself or others! (Seems it’s a big allergen too, so it’s important to be careful.) Seems oat milk /milk and cinnamon soaps are SUPER popular though ??? www.soapmakingforum.com/threads/how-much-cinnamon.26707/
