I'm glad that she played a bit in the lower register. Having played several of the instruments from the shop, one should know that you can have two instruments with the same name, and they will play and sound differently. Scott Cao's apprentices in Campbell also make some very impressive instruments at a lower price. The shop will give you a full credit for any of their name instruments when you decide to upgrade. Very friendly people to deal with.

The bench made Kreisler 1730 is a $25,000 instrument. For that much money it ought to be stellar.

He makes absolutely amazing violin's and are honestly worth substantially more than the cost in my opinion

What's with the insane amount of reverb added to this audio? Is this an attempt to make the violin sound bigger?

What model were these violins? STV-1500, signature series or superior signature series?

Take away the reverb and all you get is a Stentor-level sound... I must've tested about 20 Scott Cao's (to note: a few made by *just* him) and they're nice enough, but not mind-blowing. I wouldn't pay more than $3000 for one and even if someone handed me a "free" $3000 and said "spend it on a violin"... it wouldn't got towards a Cao, sorry.
