Funny, in my copy of Pokemon Sun, I have a male Alakazam nicknamed 'Houdini'. Knowing that Abra are quick to Teleport away from Trainers, I caught Houdini in a Quick Ball before he could escape. One piece of advice that I got from Professor Kukui about handling an Abra is even though they're constantly asleep, they can still hear what's going on around them. To get Houdini used to the sound of my voice, I would talk to him constantly. Once he evolved into a Kadabra, he finally could see what I looked like and put a face to the voice he had heard before. It was during this time that I discovered that Houdini had a knack for calming me down when I was feeling overwhelmed or having an anxiety attack. Because of this, I decided to get him registered and trained as a Service Pokemon. More specifically, a Psychiatric Alert Pokemon. Once his training was complete, we celebrated! Around my 22nd birthday, I was toying with the idea of trading Houdini with a friend of mine so he could evolve. The ultimate decision came down to Houdini. He eventually agreed and the trade occurred. After Houdini got traded back to me, you cannot imagine how happy I was!

It was Uri Geller however gave like a online interview a few years ago allowing the 3 Pokemon TO be put back int the anime 20 years after he didn't allow it but the damage as already been done. About Uri Geller Abra/Kadabara/Alakazam I believe were not only banned from the anime but I'm sure Uri Geller didn't even allow the 3 Pokemon to exist eventually IN the form of Pokemon CARDS either for the CCG either.

I love that you're analyzing the impact of an overall pokemon species in the anime that opens up the possibilities I think the Electabuzz and Magmar lines would be interesting considering how many times that line opposed Ash be it Blaine, Gary, Drake, Volkner, some other random league opponents and especially Paul.

Psychic has always ingrained to me that it's one of the best pokemon types. With that, there's always a sense of intimidation every time I have to face an Alakazam in games, even though I know it's a glass canon. It didn't help that one of my memories of Alakazam was Sabrina's Alakazam and 1-2 calm mind would just screw up my team against her.

@@ProfessorAlexSilver Understandable, my apologies!! 😅😅 For Team Rocket side then it would definitely have to be Wobbufet (Arceus help you with the length of his or Meowth's and Pikachu's) but mainly my first favourite Team Rocket Pokémon I really got attached to and was devastated to see go as a kid, James' Cacnea. 😭😭 Fun fact: Wobbufet always says his name at the end of the "Blasting off again!!" line. If I recall this correctly, his Japanese name Sonans, meaning "That's the way it is." His previous form, Wynaut's Japanese name is Sohnano, translates to "Is that so?" To what we've been hearing all this time is: Team Rocket: "We're blasting off again!!" Wobbufet: "That's the way it is!!"

The way I could See Ash getting a Alakazam I would think what if Ash Catched that Haunter he befriended to battle Sabrina instead of it just Following Him and after the Battle Sabrina offers to trade another one of her Kadabra for Haunter have that be the first Trade shown instead of Ash Trading Butterfree on the SAnne and that be were Ash witness this first Trade Evolution were Sabrina ends up with a Gengar and Ash gets Alakazam.
