Now that we understand the general characteristics of phylum Rotifera, let's dig into some of the clades within this phylum. These would be Bdelloidea, Seisonidea, Monogononta, Acanthocephala. Their relationships and phylogeny are still not firmly known, but let's talk about what we do know regarding this fascinating creatures!

A lot of the time a group once considered a phylum, turns out to be part of a much larger phylum, because of molecular studies e.g. Echiura and sipuncula, were once considered as separate phyla, but turn out to be Annelids that lost segmentation.

@@billyr2904 Well, animals are classified by their characteristics independent of their ancestry,so birds are not reptiles,i think the video would be about how birds ancestors were reptiles, and how the came to not be anymore, that could be interesting.

@@willie_am dave said in his video debunking about evolution reaction that humans didn't evolve from apes, they are apes, and you can't make a group called apes without including humans. It is like saying your mother, your 2nd cousin and your grandfather are part of the same family, but your brother is not.

@@willie_am the easiest way to tell that birds are reptiles, is that they have scales on their feet, and infact bird feathers and reptile scales develop from the protein, called keratin. Birds also have a little more In common with crocodilians, that is because they have a 4 chambered heart and an erect or partially erect limb posture. Having a 4 chambered heart often means that an animal is endothermic, but crocodilians are secondary ectothermic, which means they descended from endothermic ancestors.

In my country at least (maybe Europe as a whole) parthenogenesis is actually considered a type of sexual reproduction, since it involves a gamete: the ovum(or "egg" as you confusingly call it)

Hey Dave, I LOVE your content, especially the debunking of the crazy flat earthers. So entertaining- even though I know you have very little patience. You may not read this but I decided to put it on your most recent video in hopes that you would. I am a conservative. I believe there are two biological sexes. I also, as a psychologist, believe there is a connection between transgenderism and brain chemistry. Whether that brain chemistry be the result of abuse in childhood or legitimate born discrepancies, well, I have no idea. My thoughts: I don’t care one whit about how trans adults live their lives. Truly. And I believe they have a right, as a human, to have the same freedoms as any other human. It’s when doctors or planned parenthood start prescribing puberty blockers or trans sex hormones to children, that I have a huge problem with. You didn’t address the idea of social contagion or the issue of consent of a minor child who may not understand nor care about their future as it pertains to parenthood, sexual gratification, or surgeries and lifetime medications. I’d really love to hear your thoughts on this, as I respect you and your opinions. Thanks again for wonderful content. I’ve learned a lot from you.

People are born trans, thus there are trans children. When trans children go on puberty blockers (which is not a permanent procedure) it is not done in cavalier fashion. It is the joint decision of the child, parents, therapists, and multiple medical health professionals. Going through puberty as the sex that mismatches your gender identity is profoundly traumatic and the dysphoria that results is responsible for the astronomical rates of attempted suicide with trans individuals. This is medical care. This is not some little boy one time saying "I'm a girl!" and then everyone rushes to alter their biology. That is not how the medical community works, ever. Do not listen to conservative propaganda that tries to paint a picture that is anything other than what I've said above. They are lying to gain political influence.

@@ProfessorDaveExplains If being transgender is a gender identity, and sex is different than gender, then why do people who identify as a different gender change their sex? Why can’t they identify as whatever they want whilst being male or female? Also, why is male/female a gender if it’s a sex? Just curious…because in your reply above when you said doctors don’t change your sex when your a child saying “im a girl”, that’s exactly what happened to Jazz Jennings who became trans at the age of 2. For all their life, Jazz was convince they were a girl, but they know don’t feel comfortable with themselves because they aren’t. They were indoctrinated by their parents, and gaslighted into thinking they were a girl. None of the controversy behind being transgender is fueled by a conservative political agenda, it’s extremely harmful and we’re seeing the numbers of these cases like Jazz skyrocket.

@@thatguy720gender dysphoria that results from being trans, which one is since birth, is highly traumatic. People kill themselves because of it. You have been poisoned by conservative propaganda. Deal with it.

@@ProfessorDaveExplains sorry, but I believe you haven’t done your research on this one. I suggest you look at the numbers of girls “coming out” as trans and the fact that it seems to happen in friend groups. It’s quadrupled in only the last few years. Yes I believe some people are truly trans. But how do you KNOW they are truly trans? Do you have children? They don’t even have a sense of sex or reality until age 6-7. And indoctrination IS happening, whether you want to believe it or not. I suggest you research what happened to Chloe Cole. Also, what about “trans age?” Is that really a thing? What about “trans animals?” Is that a thing?
