Thanks for the review! Do you mind sharing the length of this trainer? It does say 68 inches on their website, but it looks so much smaller and compact. Just wondering if it will fit in my space. Also the trainer has wifi capability - what can you use the wifi for? Thanks!

Thanks for the review. I have my eye on this and the bowflex M6 max trainer. I read some of your comments and you seem to like the bowflex. Do you wish you got that instead? My problem is I know I will have to do handy work myself on the bowflex as I haven’t seen a single review that doesn’t say they haven’t experienced squeaking or a knocking sound or the servo motor failing to change resistance. Also the bowflex warranty is a pathetic 90 days labour whereas the proform h7 has 1 year labour. I just can’t make up my mind. The bowflex looks cooler but I really like the proform for its silent magnetic resistance and especially because I know I won’t have to open it up to keep it working. Seems to have more integrity to it whereas the bowflex is definitely going to require maintenance and lots of troubleshooting. I’d feel a lot more secure if I bought the proform. I have an echelon spin bike with magnetic resistance and it’s absolutely silent. I just can’t make up my mind though. You seem to like both machines so hoping you may be able to shed some light, thanks

How has this held up since you bought it? It seems like a good machine, but reviews that I've seen make it seem cheaply made and not very durable with repairs needed.

can you manually change the resistance level if you do not subscribe to the ifit plan?
@Mike-se4np4 жыл бұрын
Yes. If you don’t have the subscription it defaults to a manual mode which gives you a few programs and full manual adjustment capabilities.

im looking at videos of this machine and also the bowflex version. people have said this proform version is alittle more stable and heavy duty but both seem to have noise after a while. all i would like to know is.. is the upper body work out intense ? like the chest area and also the abs and arms?
@Mike-se4np4 жыл бұрын
Valerio Ferilli I used the bowflex before purchasing this one. Workout wise, they’re comparable. I think I actually like the stride / fan feel of the bowflex a bit better. Depends on which bowflex you’re considering but I found the entry level bowflex’s (especially) pretty cheap feeling. The proform is much heavier and has a more planted feeling. The bowflex is also fan based so its far louder than this one which uses magnetic resistance (basically silent). If you use the arm handles it really gives the upper body quite a work out. I have a peloton, concept2 rower and treadmill and I find this thing one of the the most intense workouts (comparable to the rower). I do like the built in hiit timers that the bowflex has much better than the tablet on the proform (I especially like the bell on the bowflex lol). The bowflex version is just easy and quick to use. I don’t really get a lot of value from the iFit hiit workouts. I use an app called ‘seconds’ and model the bowflex workout instead.

@@Mike-se4np Do you think this machine gives you a better workout than the Bowflex M6? The M6 costs $1,700. Not sure how much the one you have costs at Costco.I think I saw the L6 at Costco. I'll double check today to see if they have the H7 in store. Thx.
@Mike-se4np4 жыл бұрын
@@mikeham5465 the iFit workouts are okay. I tend to just use manual mode on this machine though with the seconds app since there wasn’t a lot of machine specific iFit videos. I sometimes use a peloton HIiT workout too and just adapt it myself to work with the elliptical. I find the iFit stuff okay but won’t renew once the 1 year trial expires (soon). I prefer peloton and also Apple now is better IMO (and will likely just keep getting better).

@Mike-se4np4 жыл бұрын
good question - i just pull the plug out when i'm done. I don't think it has an off switch. The tablet is one of the least appealing things about it. I have a pro-form treadmill and prefer the older digital displays to be honest. If i want to use the ifit feature, i'd rather have the older display and hook in an ipad. The downside with this machine is it's the built in tablet only, can't use an ipad + ifit.

The machine is under warranty if purchased new. The belt tension is too high maybe? This can cause bearing noise. Call proform and let them know about the noise - they will assist you with getting it corrected 👍

@@judasromero If you have broken bolt, replace it. Ask pro-form to send you some. Then when you reinstall it back, get some loctite threadlocker blue on the bolts. The bolts are known to get loose from the vibration when in use. Not sure why they didn't drip some loctite on it.

Just ordered mine from their website (wished I would have seen your video as I paid way too much) and appreciated your review. I was disappointed as well with the lack of Bluetooth connectivity as I was hoping to listen to the workouts through my Bluetooth headphones and hook up my Bluetooth chest strap for heart rate monitoring as the handheld readings are ridiculously erroneous. There isn’t even a headphone jack on the unit and when I looked at pictures on their website thought that the jack on the right side of the console was one but it’s an aux in port....they ProForm clearly missed the mark limiting the machine to only use the consoles woefully inadequate 2 inch speakers....yes, 2 inches...for a thousand dollar machine!
@ricksterling79443 жыл бұрын
@D Not_Nice Wow! Just make sure it has the Bluetooth connectivity firmware upgrade so you can connect your heart rate strap and/or bluetooth headphones (for me it was a deal breaker as I workout when the kids are sleeping and wife watching a movie). Last, I now have the infamous loud squeak that makes your workout sound like a dying seal and have an issue with trying to get it fixed under their warranty. From what I read, they play the "Delayed due to Covid" game and hope your warranty runs out. For $500, I'd probably put up with it. Good luck!

Hi everyone! For those who have the machine, I would like to know if you put it together yourselves or purchased for technician installation/setup? I'm trying to assess if it makes a difference with all the issues or not. Also is it best to place on hard floor or carpet is just as good? Appreciate your help!
@Mike-se4np4 жыл бұрын
i put it together myself. It's quite heavy so you definitely need two people to move it around but I built it myself. It took about 1.5 - 2 hours to build but was pretty straight forward following the directions. I have mine on carpet and haven't had any issues. I suspect it might be a bit more stable on hardwood though.

@Mike-se4np4 жыл бұрын
You can use the ups with an optional tablet holder but kind of agree. I prefer my treadmill that doesn’t have a tablet but has a built in tablet holder and works with iFit. The iPad screen is bigger and same/faster iFit experience. I want to mention that Bluetooth audio was added during an update so you can now listen to the audio via headphones/BT. That wasn’t available during my original post.
