Some clinics have discovered the Progesterone in oil can work subcutaneously with a 25g or even a 27g needle. I prefer the 27g subcutaneous method for Progesterone injections.

I had my FET on 10/23/23 and have been on PIO injections twice a day - yes, TWO TIMES A DAY. I have been extremely crampy but hoping for the best. These injections really aren't that bad, and I would take whatever is needed to have a baby. Baby dust to all ❤️

I took vaginal progesterone 400 mg 2 times daily, and Duphaston (Dydrogesterone 10mg) oral tabs twice daily in my FET cycle, after transfer and got positive beta hcg 664, and p4 progesterone result of 190 on the day of pregnancy test. It's my 15th week now and I am still taking same progesterone and one weekly injection of oil progesterone. Yesterday I took serum progesterone test again and it came out to be 76 at 14 weeks 3 days.

On these injections currently and I feared this injection for absolutely no reason! My Dr prescribed 25g needles for injection, which you don't feel after applying 5% lidocaine cream and warming the oil in a heating pad. The only time it was painful was when the pharmacy gave me 22g needles because they were out of 25g. After that 1 shot that was torture I went and FOUND a pharmacy that had the 25g 🤣

I've been taking the shots for 6 days now. Am I supposed to hurt once it gets in my system. The shot itself doesn't hurt it's the after affect. Once one side of the pain subside I have to get the shot in that side. Is this normal because it's hard to sit, lay on my back to do anything.

Note: if your paying out of pocket the Progesterone injections are much cheaper. The vag Progesterone is like $1k vs $200... and then after your transfer your on vag inserts so why pay 2k?

Dr. Morris, my doctor agrees with you that progesterone shots and not just vaginal suppositories are essential for FET cycles but only in medicated/programmed cycles because there is no corpus luteum. My doctor says in modified-natural FET with leterozole on days 3-7 followed by ovidrel trigger shot, then the corpus luteum produces enough progesterone naturally so just suppositories are sufficient. Is this true? Or should I insist on getting progesterone shots at least every 72 hours in leterozole w/trigger shot FET cycle?

It may be true but in my opinion we don't have sufficient data to say for sure. The studies about intramuscular progesterone or large size randomized controlled trials so we have a high degree of confidence in those results. So far, we do not have data like that for letrozole or other forms of ovulation induction

I would hate to take progesterone injections every single day. I'm planning on donor egg ivf and no matter what, I would have to take Lupron injections starting day 21 for 3 weeks til transfer day, then Estrace (hopefully I can just use a patch) then progesterone til I'm 12 weeks pregnant. This is alot of medication. UGH

1) A few well done studies have found that taking a single progesterone injection once every three days (in addition to vaginal progesterone) works just as well as taking it every day 2) Lupron would only be used until the start of progesterone, not until transfer 3) Cetrotide or Ganirelix can e used in place of Lupron and only requires 5-6 days of injections

Can you please make a video on women with POF going for fresh and frozen donation and how to avoid miscarriage specially in reference to medical management when they are deficient of progestrone/estrogen already. Doc, i just had my 1st beta (14 days past 3 day embrio transfer) is around 1,200. My progesterone level is considered “ok” based on my doctor’s opinion in 7.8. He gave me vaginal crinone 2x1, and duphaston 3x1 and Ovidrel Injection 2 times a week. Is this enough? I’m getting worried. Already did an ultrasound and there ‘s GS visible. Thanks for the reply

Has anyone here had a successful pregnancy with just oral progesterone and suppositories (ie no PIO)? Also are you supposed to "monitor" your progesterone level during the two week wait (or even before then)? We were given oral progesterone and once a day suppositories. I also had FET and had biochemical pregnancy. I am no expert but I think I had insufficient progesterone. I was only given vaginal pessaries. My progesterone was never tested after transfer. I miscarried the baby at 5.5-6 weeks.
