You're blaming the aftermarket key which is usually the case. But, We don't think you have the correct key seeing as it has only 3 buttons. Probably a Rogue or Murano key. Same transponder but different button/prox properties.

That is probably it, but actually the fact that all of the other keys worked is enough proof that the method works, since by releasing the steering lock the keys do get erased.
