How To Program A Toyota Land Cruiser Remote Key Fob 2003 - 2007 DIY Tutorial

An easy to follow video tutorial on how to program a remote key fob for a 2003 - 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser.

1. Start with the key out of the ignition, drivers door is open all others closed and drivers door is unlocked.
2. Perform these steps within 5 seconds.
A. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.
B. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.
3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Close then open the drivers door.
B. Close then open the drivers door.
C. Insert the key into the ignition(Do NOT Turn) Pull key out.
4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Close then open the drivers door.
B. Close then open the drivers door.
C. Insert the key into ignition and leave it in ignition.
D. Close the drivers door.
E. Turn the ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF.
F. Remove the key from the ignition.
5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should lock then unlock automatically indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to step 1 if the locks do not cycle at this point.
6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds.
A. Press the lock and unlock buttons on the remote key fob clicker simultaneously for 1.5 seconds.
B. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons, Press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds. Within 3 seconds, the door locks should lock and then unlock once indicating successful programming. If the door locks cycle twice, repeat steps A and B in step 6 as the remote key fob was not accepted.
C. Repeat steps A and B in step 6 for each new remote fob clickers.
7. Open drivers door.
This programming procedure will program a remote key fob clicker on the following years of Toyota Land Cruiser : 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Thank you so much. This worked perfectly for my 2005 LX 470. Used these instructions to program the key. 1. all doors closed 2. master key in and out of ignition 5 times, leave in on 5th time, no turning ever 3. open and close driver door 6 times, leave closed on 6th time 4. pull master key, get solid security light 5. insert new key, blinks for 60 seconds then goes out 6. pull key and open door to cancel mode 7. test new key

I don't believe there is a manual programing procedure for the transponder key for a 2004 land cruiser - you will need a locksmith or dealership

I found hard to believe, why does 2004 can’t be programmed while 2005 seems to be based on looking into some forums. Is that something you have experienced sir?

The information I have shows that a 2005 land cruiser ignition key is not self programmable either

I think they originally came as 315mhz

I was able to put the car into programming mode.. then when I press the lock and unlock button simultaneously nothing happens.. did it several times but still did not work.. need help..

it sounds like there may be an issue with the remote fob you using if the vehicle is going into programming mode but not responding to the fob

@@PYR-Auto I bought two fob keys one from aliexpress and one from ebay one has 433 mhz and the other 315 mhz they both didn't work.. don't want to go to the dealer it's too expensive here in the Philippines. still need help..

This did not work. I have a 2004 LC and I lost the key and had another one and had it copied but never programmed. I just tried your programming but no worky

This procedure will only program the remote portion of the remote-head key - not the key itself.
