I love house quilts. Yours turned out great! It sounds like maybe the piecing is the part you like best, but not the quilting (and basting-ugh!). I Hate basting and quilting so I have all my quilts long-armed and I just do the binding, which I like doing. It can get pricey, but edge-to-edge is fairly reasonable. It is worth it to me because if I had to do my own quilting, i just wouldn't quilt, and I love it. It is my stress reliever too.
