@@PaultheMusicMan no apologies required Paul. I usually follow your previews actually, so my comment was slightly tongue in cheek or at least my attempt at light humour. Hi Paul, thanks so much for making this app. I’m using in Logic Pro iPad. When used as a midi effect, clicking the pads don’t seem to output midi to my instrument. Strums and arps do in playback. Clicking the pad preview button says preview off with every click but the blue ring to suggest it is enabled stays on. Button works fine when progressions is used as an instrument. Wondering how I can get the pads to trigger my instrument?
@PaultheMusicMan10 ай бұрын
I'm not sure why its not working for you. I've just loaded a copy of SynthMaster and added Progressions as a MIDI FX. It does allow me to toggle the Pad Preview button and it is sending MIDI to SynthMaster. I have noticed however that Logics transport needs to be running (or to have been run at least once) to be able to process audio, so although Progressions is sending MIDI, Synthmaster will not produce sound unless the transport is active. This is possibly a bug in Logic, but since Logic is not something I use on a day to day basis I'm not sure.

A QUESTION. First of all thanks for the fantastic app Paul. Now my question, When i transfer the presets with the app from a device to another after the transfer how can I install the file in the app? Tried to use also audioshare but there is no option for upload in Progression and in the app “File”(i use iphone and ipad) I can’t find the folder named Progression where supposely should be the presets. So Can you suggest me how can I install the preset created in another device after the transfer? Thanks for your imagination and ability, wonderful app. Peter

I may have found a replicatable bug in 1.07/build 128… Every time I select Instrument Settings, it crashes in AUM and I must reload. I am on ios 15 still so it might be a backwards compatibility issue.
@PaultheMusicMan2 жыл бұрын
Try running the app in standalone mode first as it sounds like the soundfonts haven't being installed properly. Failing that, try removing and re-installing, then run it in standlone mode prior to loading as an AUv3. I am also on iOS15.1, but it has been installed on many versions.

[EDIT - now downloaded ‘circle of colors’ paper, by David Collett from your link, I love to learn about the haphazard creation of musical systems!]. That’s right Paul, you take it easy mate! What the heck?! I thought you were in recovery…anyway, take care of yourself, whatever else you do. This is a very timely product launch of course, as the desktop world is easing into iOS/iPadOS, and Scaler dropped recently - but I saw the demo, and it’s perfectly possible, in some ways, Scaler 2 is overwhelming. ‘Progressions’ is really an interesting development, I am keen to get back to your presentation. Take some care, keep well, you’re like that key scientist guy in ‘Resident Evil’ series - there’s only one of you in your corporation!

Good to see you well again. I did not watch the video yet, but I am expecting something good. Personally for me any alternative to Scaler 2 is good, actually very good. Scaler 2 and I will never become friends as with Gestruments. I am not a keyboard player and will due to age never become one. And I just do not like to put very little effort to make this impression. To become a good keyboarder it takes probably a lifetime and to make this impression within a few hours feels wrong. I could just as well send a song by a band to my friends. But my friends deserve a lot more. But this is my personal oppinion. With your apps so far to my experience they are spot on what suits me to keep a good feeling. But an app is an app and the main thing is what I pointed out in my first sentence.

Hi Paul.. getting a big fan of your programs and new ideas for musicians. This is the second app I wish had a kind of BPM MIDI input for ("real") live performance. When playing live in a band you can't always count on (no phun intended) the drummer starts (and keeps) the EXACT BPM as suggested for the song, so it would just be incredible nice to make the app read input from you NoteOn to determine the correct BPM. I hope you will give it a thought. Anyway, this app really sounds amazingly nice and well made

Does anybody know if this app will work with Apple GarageBand IOS as a DAW plug-in ? I have trouble of install the app into my GarageBand of my IPhone but it did not work??
@PaultheMusicMan6 ай бұрын
You have to load Progressions as an instrument and enable SYNC (a little clock icon to the left of the Song icon). On playback you should see it cycle through the chord list. You can record MIDI output from Progressions into a track, then drag that recorded track track to other tracks with GarageBand instruments assigned. Since GB has limited MIDI routing you are forced to use it this way, but many people do. If Progressions is not showing up in GB's instrument list reset your iPad (turn off and on again).
