My now deceased female doberman started leaking within 3 months of being spayed at a little older than 1 year old. She was on Proin until she was 10 1/2. It was the lowest dosage we could use and see it worked. But she died in the most horrible way 3 months after a small surgery to remove a growth. After hearing you mention high blood pressure ....the way she couldn't eat that morning. The yelp she made. The way she projectile vomited water and collapsed. He eyes started getting glass and she was mostly already gone before we could get her to the vet. She obviously had a painful event. The worst of it was her heart beat was so light that she took forever to be euthanized. First time I've had to see my pet react that way. usually it is so fast. For her it was soooo slow. She would gasp one more breath. That experience started me on this journey about alternative treatments for all my animals. Once you have that sort of experience it just changes the way you look at everything. Also the vets beside manor for her was the worst possible.

That's just awful. I'm so sorry she suffered like this and her family traumatized by seeing her in such pain. Rest freely sweet girl.

My 14 year old definitely shows signs of her age, but I started her on proin about two months ago. slowly, but steadily, her coordination started to worsen. She started to become more agitated and anxious and started to become vocal. As a pharmacy technician, I have titrated her up from a very low dose - about 1/3rd of what the vet prescribed. Still, today, I believe my dog had a stroke because of proin.

My 12 yr old Malinois/Dutch Shepherd became incontinent within 3 days of first (and only) Librela back in March. Vet was adamant Librela has "zero side effects" and said sudden bed wetting was because she was old and proscribed Proin. Didn't help at all. Then given Incurin in conjunction with Proin. (Will save the whole Librela for Librela video). A neighbor told me his dog was given first Proin then the combo but been successful with just Incurin. I did the same with success. 1/2 tablet in am and 1 tablet pm. Does Incurin has negative side effects like Proin?

My dog is going through the same thing. The vet prescribed Proin. It works for sure. I had her on it for a few weeks until I googled it. I know I should have first, or maybe my vet should have told me. I read so many dogs have randomly died taking this. So now I’m literally trying all kinds of natural remedies with raw food and it’s only helped a bit. Which are the ones on your site that you recommend for incontinence? Her kidneys were tested and are fine it’s her vulva and old age fyi.

A year ago a mass was discovered in one of my Vizsla’s testicles, a mass in his spleen and bladder stones. No cancer! Spleen out. Neutered. Cystotomy. Every six months I get a full abdominal ultrasound, full blood piano, and a full urinalysis. I’m feeding him fresh food and his blood work is shown that all of his values are within range. He’s healthy and energetic. And benefiting from Real Mushrooms. But he dribbles During the day and leaks at night. We put a diaper on him at night. They are not disposable and I make sure that I wash them on a sanitary cycle. I also clean his drawing area to make sure he doesn’t get urine scald. I had no luck on leaks no more. We tried it through two bottles and didn’t have any luck. Should I have stayed on it longer? I will not do the Proin. When he was a puppy, they thought he had a cardiac condition. I went through a full cardiac evaluation with a 24 hour monitor. And no one has found any irregularities in his heart rate since. I take that as a blessing and don’t intend to mess with it. Dogs with Addisons must stay on the medications that keep their potassium and sodium levels in check. They unfortunately cannot survive without those medications.
