My dad was an A-10 pilot in the Air Force. He was hit by a drunk driver a few years ago, and this really makes me cry. I remember how he used to show me all of his HUD cams, and he used to read me all of his logbooks. Thanks for sharing this video, man. This is one of the most realistic flight sims I've ever seen. Nice music too.

I just started playing this game a week ago. A friend of mine that is heavily into flight sims is teaching me. It is truly a beautiful game. I cannot wait to learn more about the A-10C. I had my first successful landing with him tonight. So much fun!

Being a Black Shark 'living-room pilot' I already knew the new edition to DCS was going to be amazing, but after seeing Project 10 I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY. Even now, a year later it still puts a huge smile on my face. Simply incredible, so incredible in fact that I've been saving up for this past year just so I could buy a new computer and play DCS A-10C Warthog the way it was meant to be played.

I just got myself Track IR 5. Mostly for when the A-10 comes but it rocks in the Ka-50 too. Soon as the Thrustmaster HOTAS stick comes i think I will get that too. Ahh im so exited by the prospect of a new aircraft for DCS. Thanks guys for all the hard work you are legends of your own time. Andy

I guess anything you see for in cockpit shots is spot on. The shadow/lighting effects of this sim is amazing. You can also toggle a setting that allows for G/forces/lateral head movement effects vs the direction of the a10. All of the gauges/dials all are animated to actual settings. 99.9% of the cockpit is fully interactive and has actual function as it would in an A10. MFD menus/heck even the TEST menu functions for MFD/HUD are simulated if you want to run a test check. It's impressive!

When I was in high school, I always put trailers of flaming cliffs, A-10C and Ka-50 in my MP4 player and watched them during break. I been playing the beta (public release) for over a week now and Im still stunned everytime I load it up and learn something new. I found yesterday that ground units can be orderd around from the map and given waypoints so escort mission are a very real possibility. You can also spot targets ffrom the JTAC view and mark them with smoke or gather Lat/Lon positions and then use that pos on your A-10s navigation system to locate the target from the air!. How utterly awsome is that.

i got my WH Hotas almost 1 year ago for this very sim, its still working flawlessly in any and all flight sims. Still pin sharp control on all axis. Its expensive yes but it makes your flying so much more fun.

TrackIR really is a must to fully enjoy pretty much any flight sim, but you can do fine in A-10 with just a $25 joystick from Best Buy and most of the commands custom mapped around an FPS-style "W,A,S,D" kind of keyboard layout. That said, I'm still saving up for an X52 with the separate throttle. Great vid as always, too.

@FlightlevelHD No. You fly on the western coastal area of Georgia (the country) (Black Sea map). They are adding a Nevada update as well soon which seems to be part of a engine upgrade from what I understand. You can see more about it on the main web page and see an exact map of the playable sim area.

DCS A-10 is the same simulator with slight modifications the United States used to train its A-10 pilots. It is the most realistic A-10 simulator, nothing comes close to it in FSX not even a payware. FSX is for General Aviation and maybe some good military addons if your lucky. This is for A-10 combat.

@MrTornadoman97 DCS is a Simulator Series. They release each "game" with a single aircraft. Before the A-10 there was DCS: Black Shark simulating the Ka-50 Helicopter. All DCS-Modules are combinable, so you can play the Ka-50 and the A-10C (and Lockon Platinum) on one Server. Next they are planning to simulate the Apache. Unlike sims like LockOn or Falcon (FreeFalcon) concentrating on one aircraft means, that you have accurate flight models, and not multiple planes sharing one flight model

I'll agree it is missing a dynamic campaign for sure, that would be incredible and I know it's on the wish list. The multiplayer campaigns people have made are pretty decent though, enough to suffice for a night of play. Maybe someday they'll get a true dynamic campaign up on a patch. It's really the only thing it's missing other than maybe more planes. Maybe I'll download BMS this weekend and try it out. Thanks for the heads up TheCabal!

@soupyc Default key combo is "J+LShift" under "Camera jiggle toggle" in the simulator control options.

The foley/post work I noticed: Cam is a little to shaky for external shots vs what the in game mode does. The pilots you hear on the comms chatter are added in, there is voices in sim though (See JTAC examples). The men screaming on the ground strafing run is added in. Other than that it's all quite real what you see. Again these effects you need Track IR5 for that natural head movement effect in sim. Also you can record a 'track' of what you flew so that's how you can do other cam shots.
