Need a video how to remove the upholstery and foam without cutting it. Just in case your upholstery is good but still have the gangster lean.

Excellent video, thank you for going over this. If your looking for me, I’ll be in the garage tearing my seat apart 👀

Mine has done both. Ripped a stud out of the floor and broke the frame. Welded flat bar to the seat to fix the frame and welded the stud back to the floor. No more lean. I haven't recovered them yet so I will definitely check the weak spots you pointed out here as well. Great video and looking forward to the finished product!

Yep, our 1993 fox body did this on week one… My brother was around 280lbs playing football at University of Arkansas so the seat stood no chance.

my SN95 had the same seat issue. what did to fix it was put a 1/8th" flat plate in the center to mostly close that hole in the center. it never flexed again!

Great upload ❗ I'm having issues with the recliner keeps slamming into the next "gear tooth". Anyone having that issue in keeping the seat more vertical?❓

Can the rest on the project 55 series ideas be thing long ? Around 10-15 minutes?

Nick Jarrett the next couple will probably be 30+ minutes. All depends on what we are working on. We try and do an update every Friday and sometimes not much happens

What kind of wire is used to replace the foam support wire on the bottom? Several of mine are broken from rust...

There is nothing wrong with my cover and foam but the frame needs welding. does it just slip off or is there hog rings holing it on?

How much is decent mileage for one of these?

i dont have a welder, but do you think drilling small holes where the welds should be and bolting it all tight will work just the same? lock tight them all up so they dont come loose. i hope. anyone? thinking about 8 along the bottom. 4 on each side. 2 each inside of the side. and probably 8 more along the top.

Anything you can do to make it solid will help. My only fear with bolts is damage to the foam over time.

CJ Pony Parts thanks :)

CJ Pony Parts Bolts shouldn’t be too bad. The previous owner tried to rivet straps in a crisscross manner to the back of the seat. It didn’t work at all for the lean but it also didn’t damage any foam.

Watched the spot welds pop and tear with my brother digging for his wallet at a toll booth wanted to smack him upside his head for that one. You have to brace them when you fix it since the seat pan is pretty damn thin.
