I would have loved to see the complete engine build, not only the block preparation and afterwards the finished motor.

We decided to get moving with the build, as to try and do step-by-step on every process it would never get done. Sorry

@@MEDEngineeringTechVideos Well, I do understand, but MED is famous for it´s Mini engine parts and modifications, so I guess that could have been a good marketing tool also. For example you could have linked some videos in your shop. Maybe on the next project ;-)

Hi there. I would just like to say Thank You for making these videos. They are absolutely great for a Mini enthusiast like myself. Well done Steve and the Other staff involved. Keep them coming

Great stuff. I have a 1430 cc A+- engined Morris 1000 Traveller. I'm pretty sure that it has some/many of your bits on it. Emerald ECU runs it beautifully. Only as a road-car though and off the road because the wood's falling off in parts.

Very nice engine spec. 112hp is good and it will make Project 63 hum very nicely along the road.

Thank you. It takes longer than you think to make these...!

Looks great, and a very nice specification for the engine. You seem to have latched onto precisely the spec I had come up with for my own car, so I won’t need to waste ages of your time discussing it with you. The only sad thing is that you’ve abandoned your video programme : no engine build video, no subframe installation video, SO disappointing because the earlier videos were so useful to those of us who haven’t done this before. I was learning a lot, and was very grateful for the lessons. Oh well. Did you get bored? Two questions: what needles do you use in the H4s? I will dyno the engine, but would like to know where to start…. And why stick to 7.5” brakes when twin-pot 7.9” would fit in your wheels? And (the third of my two questions) will you fit a servo? Cheers Will

Thanks for the feedback. We struggle to get the time in the day to make a full tutorial video, sorry. So in the quest of finishing the car we've scaled it back a bit. Try AAA needles and red springs to get the engine running, although if running an XT cam you may find this on the lean side. The 7.5" S discs and a decent set of pads are plenty enough for road and even race use. The 7.9s you usually need to run the later Metro drive flanges, and be very careful about balance weight positioning on the wheels. We'll not fit a servo, no. That won't improve the brakes, only make the pedal easier.

Would you be able to give an approx build cost for this engine? It's fantastic but it looks very expensive 😂
@MEDEngineeringTechVideos Жыл бұрын
Yes....quite a lot! To build yourself from scratch, in the region of £15,000 by the time you have the straight-cut box and ATB.

But why straight-cut race gearbox on a car which is never going on a track? Strange choice, especially when you offer strengthening kits for regular ’boxes.
