Why is nobody doing any night-stuff in PC2, to me that's the most attractive feature next to the vast range of content. Just drove the nordschleife at night in Project Cars 1 yesterday and that was just amazing. (had to stop due to way whacky physics tho :D)

Had a motorcycle race a couple of years ago, Last 2 laps, a storm rolled over but the track only got hit by the far left tip of the storm. The result was 2 laps with only one extremely wet corner and half of the straight out of the corner. Only time I experienced something like that in real life

Press build, but once it rains, the rain on the right wing cycles through dry-raindrops-dry-raindrops. My pet-peeve with god-rays is that they continue into the cockpit/cabin, like you are driving with a smoke filled cockpit.

Thank you for going non-VR this time around. Just tried watching Jimmy's historical Spa video, and the constant jerky viewpoint wandering made me quit real soon. As for Project Cars 2 itself, somehow this video left me questioning the physics... Of course, I understand that I need to try it out myself before being able to judge it. Good thing there are refunds... Hopefully, I won't need to use those... Absolutely agree with you on pretty much everything you said about difficulty vs. realism. And that's another reason to pick Dirt 4 over Dirt Rally. But you are right that a really good sim should be more difficult to drive than a real car. The lack of g-forces, the input lag, the imperfection of FFB, among other things, all that should make it harder on the pilot. Still, real cars are made to be as driveable as possible without sacrificing the other qualities, so a very realistic car sim shouldn't be extremely difficult to drive fast enough. However, actual RL pilots with almost no virtual experience might have a problem adapting...

Nice, enjoyable vid as always. I think it's the humor and the light mood that cheers me up =). A suggestion, GM - try putting on wet tyres and doing some laps on a saturated track. See how you still have grip in the wet, but once you go through a puddle, it's all aquaplaning and no hope =) - depends on the puddle depth, of course.

If you look at the right fender at 9:05 or so, you can see the rain drops. Then they go and come back to the exact same spot. I hope it´s just a press release game thing because feels not completely done yet

I hope so too. Their rain animation is very cheap and basically copy paste from pc1. It's a basic texture repeating itself in a very obvious manner. Like on a windscreen, the wipers produce some sort of forcefield preventing new rain to land for a second or 2 aka until the texture is laid over again. Also, when the wipers move, they dont even clear all drops. It goes over them like they're invincible. It's just really bad and basic

It's not suppose to be like that. That's the texture, but it's not suppose to disappear and reappear. That much I know for sure, because that's not how the effect behaves in other videos, or pCars1 for that matter.

16:20 - Hmm, that's actually surprising to me. When I was on track in the rain, the (dry) racing line was the "shiniest" in appearance and also had the least grip. Driving about a car width's off line actually gave more grip.

The old Maserati 12 cylinder F1 car is becoming one of my favorite cars in Assetto Corsa. The handling is so different from anything else that it's just fun from the perspective of being totally unlike any other kind of racing.

Extremely interesting and informative video! It was very interesting to see how the transition from dry to wet was very gradual in terms of visuals AND physics. The grip levels also seemed very realistic and seem to reflect the conditions well. Would be interesting to see an EVO for example in wet conditions. AWD powersliding should be good fun then :)

Hey gamer muscle! Can you please tell me how the physics are compared to AC? I'm not a fanboy I am just tired of all the KZbin's dodging the question with "It's an early build" or "I haven't played ac in a while". We are trusting your opinion and using it to decide if we spend out our hard earned money, so please can we have a straight forward answer. If it's worse than ac fine ill still buy it, just want some truth.

Its different to AC , FFB is not as good as ac in my opinion but the general handling is in the same ball park as other PC simulators , some of the cars are really good and no worse than other cars in AC/R3E/iRacing and what have you. As to if its worth getting it will depend on how much you value the day night weather and specifc cars in PC2 and then how well the multiplayer works. If you are on the fence with a game wait for it to come out before buying it so you don't get burned if its not what you were expecting, It will be interesting to see how polished all the cars are in the final version and what changes have been made to AI / FFB and other things. VR works really well with it as it is now and I think the bac mono and most the slower cars especially driving them on dirt is really fun, the cars dont have the on rails then no grip / weard slop like project cars 1 did. when the review copy of the game comes out I'll do up date videos on what the retail copy is like :)

For me the best racing sim on consoles is Project Cars, but the developers need to keep working on the AI. Ok, they did a good job on the AI losing grip and is really fun to watch, but real racers that drive expensive cars try their best not to crash into other racers and that's something they need to work on it. But they're in the good direction of making the perfect sim. Little nag from my side is the graphics, combine the rain realism from DriveClub and the graphics from Forza Motorsport 7 (not a FM fan at all) and PC would be the best.

The pop in and out on the trees, fog effects, and shadows are a fair bit annoying. Any word on if they'll be fixing it? Either way, looks like a decent racing sim game overall, which I currently plan on picking up sooner or later.

Have you noticed that when youre in cocpit mode and use the windshieldwhipers and double the whipe speed it starts to rain twice as fast..instantly. So funny! Almost as funny to see that the cocpit mirror of closed cars dirty up the same amount as the outer mirrors. Love the game tho. Even 16 months later! 😎 the Netherlands 🚦🏁

looks a good game, loved project cars 1 so will be buying this but my worry from this video is that Ai, it doesnt look anywhere near as dynamic and realistic as something like f1 2017. no real awareness of where you are, ive yet to be rammed on f1 2017 as the Ai will spot you brake checking them and dive left and right to avoid you. then there was the way you car was sliding around while the Ai was seemingly unaffected, in fact the Ai seemed to make more mistakes in the dry. still... it does look great and the racing looks challenging enough, i just wish racing sims started focusing on opponent realism, i want to see more mistakes, more tyre failures, more accidents, more sliding. we need to get passed this train track phase already.

Keep the car in higher gears than normal, even on corners, and dont use all the revs before shifting up.
