I think the first thing I'm going to do in this game is run Le Mans in a "realistic" 24 hour race (that only takes 8 hours, which is still almost more than the real drivers do since 8 hour stints are not allowed, but I guess I have a pause button for when nature calls so that's probably a fair concession. And according to regulations the 24 hour race is spread across three drivers so you would only run 8 hours per-driver on average). For the first time EVER we have full day/night with dynamic weather. With this release I have no doubt that Slightly Mad Studios has created the most fully featured Racing Sim ever made (fingers crossed the game is stable at launch).

It does look pretty good! I brought PC1 when it first came out and as we know it's been recovering ever since from that premature release. It's now fantastic and I can't wait for PC2. I just hope and pray that they've got it playable in that there are no game breaking bugs at launch (like superhuman cars in the way, tyres missing etc). If it doesn't then I'll be getting it. Aftr 1 though I'll be waiting for the reviews after launch..

And it's not just the in-house Setups, had the same issue with a user-made setup for the BMW 320 TC for Oulton Park (playing Career mode), spent half the evening fashioning a decently turning fast car from that. With some setups you think they could've only been made by someone with a controller given how much of an understeery wreck they are. Also R3E has the same issues with base setups, they all are pretty understeery. Good to hear that the Kamikaze-AI is gone......they are annoying. As for the off-putting lighting, go from the GP circuit out on the Nodschleife in the 24 hours track variant at night, that is one hell of a difference. Although I think the worst track for Night driving is Silverstone imho, as you have lighting but quite often it's not the braking points of apexes that are lit, but other parts. And yeah I hate Silverstone! I prefer Brands, Donnington and Oulton Park over it. Although I hate Ruapuna even more, or rather the track+Car combos they gave us for it, not fun with a GT3, certainly not fun in an LMP, might be fun in a Caterham, a Superkart, Formua Rookie/Gulf or Ginetta G40. Guess you had a little run in with Eduardo Freitas there around 12:13......:D If you watched this year's Le Mans around 1 AM you'll know what I mean. All I'm gonna say is Car 66! ;) Regarding Le Mans, the drivers have commented over the years that it is more well lit than it used to be. Though the section between Mulsanne and Idianapolis should be pretty dark. .

I have one of the most bare bones force feedback wheels the TMX with the T3PA pedals not that I'm complaining I like it a lot and it does the job I used to be extremely good with a controller at racing games but I haven't used a controller for so long that when I tried to use one recently I was utter crap sliding and crashing all over the place I don't know what happend I used to be great with a controller guess I got used to the wheel and as of now I'm faster that I used to be on a controller.

Thanks for explaining the AI difficulty effects. I've been running at 75% and that results in myself running into the backs of the AI cars all the time in the corners. I will try bumping it up to 100% and give 'em another go.

It does look good. After the disasterous decision to launch PC1 with all the bugs I'll be waiting though. Once it's clear from the reviews that there's no game breaking bugs then I'm in. I hope that's it's ready, but after 1 that's all it is- hope.

Is the race engineer good? In PC1, he doesn't tell you if it's gonna rain in a few laps. I have to check the weather forecast by pausing every time I'm planning to pit. It pulls you out of the immersion.

Jacob1314 Probably for those whom are "aliens" whilst leaving a competitive feeling for those who are less fortunate to have alien racing capabilities. I'd wager the ai are probably ridiculously fast or even "cheaty" at that percentage to give alien racers a challenge. I've met my fair share of alien racers on AC who complain that 100% AI feel like a cakewalk.

T1 Nürburgring Grand-Prix is like this with most games to be honest , only really works smooth if you start in top 6 or so. Multiplayer it can work out ok but then you get that one guy spinning or one guy tapped in back and its even worse than AI.

I raced it in Assetto Corsa yesterday and the AI didn't seem to have a problem at all. MP is different but some of those peoples intelligence isn't really up to par haha

Yah I think AC AI was made really good about 3-4 months ago ! You get situations with all the simulators where weird AI stuff happens , or even when AI drives a lap perfect its then too perfect and makes the driving a bit boring.

GamerMuscleVideos I think you're always going to kind of have to cut racing AI some slack if you want to have the most fun with them anyway. I love that moment at 8:30 where the AI driver tries to dive bomb another for an overtake and loses grip and goes off course. That kind of practical realism was completely missing from Project Cars 1. In the first one they never made a mistake. Ever. So unrealistic.

Have you done some MP already? Can the host restart after for instance a massive pile up, or a voting system for restarts? Can you set it to only show names of real players, when it's mixed with AI?

You can race for 24 hours max. Don't think you can save except pause the game hehe.

ZulfoDK In real life back markers don't have to move off their line. The faster cars have to find a way past them.

I'm pretty sure that you are wrong! If the flags in Endurance races works like in Formula One it's not a question of just warning you, you will get punished for not letting the faster car pass you, so yes they do have to move off their racing line. And vene if they didn't have to, if you watch endurance races you will see that the back markers do move for faster cars...

Danny Darbyshire I recommend the rift now due to its price drop. For recording the asw is also handy. Game seems fairly consistent with other cars on screen rain can slow it down a bit along with night transitions. My version is not fully optimized though so cannot really comment on the retail versions frame rate.

GM, James from PRC said that he thinks the GT3 cars feel like the URD GTE cars from rfactor2 and he was hugely accused of shilling with that statement. How much alike are they in your opinion? If they are somewhat close then I might start getting rather excited about PC2 as the URD GTE's are some of my favourite sim cars to drive across the whole sim landscape.

+FreakSaw187 bits of car can fall off wheels suspension and other things not really tested it properly. One of the rules for showing the press version was to not make a video specifically about crashing. Probably more because the game is about Racing rather than crashing.

I can understand that, but in my opinion crashing is a fundamental part of racing. Nobodies races to crash, but it's a fear that has to be there and it has to be punished in a simulation just as it is in real life. If people crash into each other without much consequence, then for me it's not a simulator. Thanks for the video man, you are awesome!

Bloody still in neutral. Game looks promising, seems more like what the first one should've been. Still interested in if it's got the same force feedback options as the first one, with each car having it's own pages of settings in addition to the main controls settings or if there are presets or less settings. Also, are the track models noticably updated as it's been quite a few years from SMS previous version of Imola, Donington, Zandvoort, Spa, Le Mans, Nurburgring, etc and the tracks have changed a little IRL.

120 is alien like AI. Like top 1% can race against it. Think most people will run 80% and good racers around 100%.

Project Cars 2 hype :( Gonna buy a Steering wheel just for this... but got low budget... so thinking on the Thrustmaster t150 .... than in a month a set of pedals with clutch for it... and maybe an H shifter if it can be improved with addons :D... No , just 3 sliders and with a DD wheel you only have to worry about 2. I think you can still edit everything in a TXT file if you wanted to though.

If the Earth were rotating 50% faster would the cars even need wings? Gravity would be so much more intense, I wonder if cars would be grounded to the ground more. Help me out math people.

+Steven Phillips mass is what defines the gravity of earth. If the earth span 50% faster I believe objects on the surface would be slightly lighter due to centrafugal force. The middle of the earth would bulge more and would also likely be less dence + further away from its centre of mass so people and cars near the equator would be even lighter. Mind you I don't think it would amount to much. The faster day night cycle and more extreme weather + tidal forces I believe would probably be much more noticeable lol.

Hey Muscle, are you going to review the Cronusmax Drive Hub that just went up for pre-order? It slows you to use a T300 base with Xbox One or TX base with a PS4. Not through some analog stick trickery but actual native software support. I'm so exited for this IF it allows me to use my TX setup and all it accessories on my PS4 for when GT Sport comes out. Its not that I would have even minded buying a T300 base, its the idea of swapping wheel bases every time I wanted to switch between the PS4 and Xbox One that would have drive me NUTS!
