Don't listen to the stupid comments , haters are everywhere. Nice job!! , really appreciate the time you guys took to do this video so beginners like me could learn from the pros how to work in our trucks ourselves. I love this video, cuz tomorrow I'm receiving my mid travel kit from Dirt king Fabrication and you guys are sowing the whole process step by step. My truck is a 04 Nissan Titan. Thanks for the free classes. Keep posting more videos and hopefully one day would be a Nissan.

Don't worry about the bumpstop fully compressing that's its job and limit straps generally stretch about about an inch per foot but that is only if you drive hard enough to completely droop out the suspension and actually stretch it.

They are the 56000-110 a 2.5x10" remote reservoir shocks. I can't put links here in the comments but if you visit Sway Away's site and click Offroad Racing in the left column, then in the right column click RACERUNNER SHOCKS 2.5", you will see this part number. I really have no way to determine their lifespan because everyone's driving style and truck is different. They are rebuildable so that helps!!!

good to know the front fenders actually aren't that hard...I just got my fiberglass ones. Much like everyone, yes that gap at the fender bugs me, so I think when I do mine, I will not tighten down the one behind the headlight until I have that lined up with the hood. Only one other question...on the passenger side fender, do they just drill a hole for the factory antenna?

I have a F150 that I will be putting on a midtravel suspension, I will be using a hydro bumpstop to limit up travel but to actually keep it from fully compressing the bumpstop do I just pump the pressure in the bumpstop high enough for when i jump and land/fully compressing the suspension the bumpstop does not fully compress? and I just want to make sure I have this correct: limit straps will stretch approx 1" in their lifetime, so I need one less inch in the straps new?

1. The gap does bother me on the glass. I'd send those back immediately. It's a common problem, and most glass shops are happy to replace with a better fitted replacement 2. High angle ball joints aren't all that bad for a lower priced, functional long-travel kit. Not everyone can afford a 10k dollar long travel heim kit (which doesn't even include coil overs/resi shocks) 3. Some of the techniques he uses are kinda cringe, sure, but: this kid has more talent than most of the keyboard warriors posting these hate comments. He works the way he works. Whatever. Relax. 4. Hanging the brake line is a big no-no, however, when installing a long travel kit, you don't use factory brake lines anyway. So who cares if it stretches, or even breaks. It's getting replaced with 9+ lines Give props where props is due. The truck turns out pretty awesome, and is fully functional. Coming from a background in fabrication, and an off-road enthusiast, I can say this is a pretty damn good tutorial start to finish. He not only gives you locations, how-to's, but also includes what EVERY BOLT/NUT SIZE is as he's doing it.

My question is, at least for us who have OCD, how donyou fix the warp in the fender above the headlight? I’ve never worked with fiberglass and just got an 06 f150. I’m looking at these fiberwerx fenders but caught the warp after the install.
@greysinclaire
@greysinclaire 11 ай бұрын
Fiberwerx is a great company for how durable their fenders are but sadly, just like any fiberglass fenders on the market, you'll always need to do some sanding and body filling to get them looking A+. But for guys like these, they don't care so much about the look for show quality. They mainly need it for performance.

how much does the long-travel suspension lift the truck from it original hight? i have an 06 TRD tacoma prerrunner that i want to do this to.
@gravitygear
@gravitygear 7 жыл бұрын
Not much. Proper desert prerunners and race trucks aren't much more lifted than stock. Hell, some are lower. They try to keep the center of gravity low. Don't want to flip these things when turning or carving berms. The big ass tires get room from increased track width and modified body panels (fiberglass fenders). If using coilovers, you can typically adjust the suspension height with the spring collar on the coilover. You want a good amount of squish and droop too much of one and you're bouncing off stuff instead of absorbing it.

+Hot Rod Lincoln I have been doing fabrication work for almost 40 years, everything from wagons to race cars. My point is that if you are going to present yourself as a subject matter expert you do all the work correctly. It is imperative that safety instructions are amplified during these types of demonstrations because people see this type of material and believe the results are as easy as it looks and that is very far from accurate. This guy did not do all this work alone, nor did he accomplish it as fast as it appears. They rehearsed the shots and then when they make an error they re-shoot so its perfect.
