Project Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ Bumper Trimming! We know, we all thought Project WJ was over, but its not, and we have a few more upgrades to the Jeep to share with you all. In today's video, we're fixing the front bumper so that we can finish moving the front axle forward as part of the lift. Without this mod, we risk ripping the factory front bumper off the Jeep! But we really want this mod to look factory, so we're only allowing stealth adjustments that won't highlight what we've done. I just put the same tire size on my 00 WJ with some Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I have less clearance due to the meaty tire but, I have a 3inch budget boost and without those lifting cups they would never fit. I still have to trim my fender as well. I am not to worried about the rear fender because I wont be off-roading with my Jeep. With the 3 inch lift and the 265-70/17 it gave my Jeep an overall lift around 5 inches in total. Before installing the tires I changed out all of my steering parts and Les Schwab still finds a way to not do my alignment for the 4th time already. I did the alignment my self and it drives pretty straight now. thanks to KZbin all of this was possible.

Les Schwab used to be an amazing company and the one near Uncle Jake in Idaho is still pretty great, but the one near Joel in Denver seems to have somehow figured out how to make money by not doing anything, because we've never successfully managed to get them to do an actual alignment. Any new parts and they're like "you've got new parts on here." And we're all we'll yeah, that's why its in for the alignment, and their response is "NOPE! Can't work on it, new parts!" And we're still mystified as to how that makes any sense at all. They lost our business, at least in Denver. Your rig sounds awesome, we hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it. A WJ is a forever project. Even if you daily wrench it will need more.

We were going with the ol "Man I hope I don't rip the front bumper off the Jeep before I have time to trim this" method and, luckily, it worked!

Why would you not remove the tire and get more working area???

Cause we would have had to remove the tire then lol. Seriously there was plenty of room and we’ve done this a few times on different rigs so we’re pretty comfortable doing it with the tires on, plus it allows us to see the bumper shape in relation to the tire distance and curve. Nope this one's a WJ. ZJ's were made from 1993 to 1998 and have a more angular styling. We have a ZJ on the channel, you can check out its build: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4KXkHZ9ntSAo8U The WJ was built from 1999 to 2004 before it was replaced by the WK. Thanks for the question!
