Great video outlining project manager's responsibilities. I agree that one of the important ones is managing executives and their expectations. Loved the line of "you have to manage up as well as manage down". So true. I have personally seen a project fail miserably because this was not dealt with by the project manager.

Hi Adriana, I'm not a PM yet, but working on it. Graduated last year from Saint Leo University and putting myself out there. Now, this might be kind of a broad question, but a good one I believe. How do you manage the expectations of your team without micromanaging them?

Hi Chuck, great question. There are many ways to manage without micromanaging. The key is to set expectations up front with your team and follow up with them then there would be no need to micromanage. Dear Adriana, shouldn’t a PM rather not to demotivate the team - they should motivated themselves to come to work - keep bad things away, remove roadblocks etc. - I agree to keep them excited.

As an efficiency and productivity expert I incorporate LEAN way of working in everything I do. This helps to eliminate waste and streamlining in everything I do is my motto. 2. I only do things that are aligned with my company and personal vision statement. This means I say No to a lot of things as much as I say Yes. 3. Most importantly I have an amazing team that helps me. You're right, I can't do it all and my team and I divide and conquer accordingly I hope this helped to answer your question, Cheers!
