I watched the entire video and am glad you didn’t cut it up. 99.9% of the pre 2004 evo sportster project videos start out with a sawzall and grinder. Someone needs to start a Save The Evo campaign

Thanks David, I think this one turned out pretty good. It's funny, every time someone sees a Sportster I'm working on they always say "you should hard tail it!"

I've got one of these, a '97 that I bought new. Still a fun bike to ride.

Before starting another project invest in a full face helmet dude! We wanna keep you around a little longer lol
@buttcrackcycles Жыл бұрын
I have a full face, I wear it when it's cold. The 3/4 is way more comfy when it's hot though. I know it's not as safe, but better than nothing

Where did you get that aftermarket air cleaner kit?
@buttcrackcycles Жыл бұрын
It's from TC bros, the part number is 109-0115 you'll also need that carb support bracket I showed in the video plus the breather bolts. Hope that helped!

"Can't justify having three keeper bikes?" This is still AMERICA. "I Want Them" is all of the justification that you need.

Good day sir. You may want to try having both throttle cables hooked up. One push one pull. Good luck. Smitty.

Awesome videos and awesome bikes more power to you no disrespect but you made a comment I can't justify 3 bike's I totally disagree if you can afford it more is always better the bikes justify themselves don't have to explain to anyone why just the way it is personally I am blessed with 6 sportster don't sell buy more no regrets thanks for the video

Great video man. I learned about the intake. Thanks. Sometimes your throttle issue can be fixed by rerouting the cable. Had that issue on my 04. I enjoy your channel. I like longer videos.

Love the bike just don't agree with your comment on Evo engine not looking good .....in my humble opinion look way better than iron head sorry man but I still like both fyi

Unless youre enamoured with it, ditch the lowering kit someone stuck on the swing arm. Not best.

Great bike man. Definitely like the smaller air filter. Those stock dont breath no were near as well as aftermarket does. Cant wait to see what u do to the shovel man...

Very cool bike mate I always start with intake seals and make sure the air filter mount has correct spacing as always see people bolt em down tight effecting the seals and carb to manifold seal also iv found the only intake seals that not effected to the fuels is genuine harly seals so always use genuine rest gasket kits is good 😎

That's another nice bike. I'd take it on if you lived in Santa Barbara... And as usual, a compelling & instructive film; enjoyable & heart & plot-driven. Thanks man. You remind me of Richard Dreyfus, a long time fave actor. Blessings~~

I've put 45000 miles on my 883. Great bike. Wacked a racoon the other night now it wont shift. Had limp it home stuck in 4th gear. Luckily ive got more than 1 bike. Going tear into the 883 this week.

Hello. Just a tip I learned with my 04 883. If you get any sort of hiccup while riding and pull the choke slightly it’ll stop. I fixed tha problem by replacing the idle or slow jet by two sizes bigger and that fixed it. You may get that now that it’s all open breathing. Great looking bike. Hope it rides well!
@buttcrackcycles Жыл бұрын
Appreciate the tip !
@dutch_clutch8211 Жыл бұрын
Why not just turn out the air/fuel screw until it richens out? You're basically doing the same thing by pulling out the choke
@buttcrackcycles Жыл бұрын
@@dutch_clutch8211 a stock CV carb has the idle mixture screw blocked by a plug in the carb body. It's pretty easy to get to, I may do it to this one (probably should've when I had it off!)

@@buttcrackcycles no doubt but hey I got a '97, I know you have your hands full. You should see my list of haves and will dos.
