I also love that we can use the stock JLT oil catch cans too not some specially made one. The way the Supercharger screws on too, unlike some I've seen where they screw on the outside which the ones around back of the firewall are a b* to screw on. I am shocked how much they improved this Supercharger vs the others.

Thanks for the kind words Keith! We have a number of videos featuring dyno pulls with the Odin on anything from '11 Mustang GTs all the way up to current. The short and skinny of it, on 93 Octane, this kit is capable of over 700rwhp on an otherwise stock vehicle and exponentially climbs with supporting modifications such as a return style fuel system and E85. A good example would be our sales director's car that currently makes just shy of 1100rwhp. Don't hesitate to email us and let us know any other questions you have. This looks like a clean, minimally invasive installation that one could do themselves. However, it's $2k more than a Rousch phase I kit, though it does require more modifications.
@VMPPerformanceTV Жыл бұрын
It does provide substantially more power, as well as greater potential with additional modifications such as a return style fuel system and E85. A more apt comparison is the Phase 2 kit which lists 750hp at the crank and delivers high 500s to low 600s to the wheel. The Odin kit delivers an average of 675rwhp on '18+ Mustangs.

Got one of these installed about a month ago.. definitely has potential, but I think there's something wrong with either the install or the tune (aftermarket, not the one from VMP). Initially after I first got the car back, it went into limp mode a few times. Would resolve after turning the car off & starting back up. Then it started throwing Trouble Code: IAT sensor circuit range or performance problem (p0111 I believe). Shop said that I'm likely just suffering heat soak from the increased heat given off from the blower, but I'm skeptical (granted, I'm not a mechanic by any means) given the highly regarded cooling setup on these Odin kits. I do live in Texas and it's July, so temps are usually mid 90s or low 100s, but I'm seeing IATs on my dash (no nGauge or anything else) of 160-170 after runs. Car will cool down maybe 5-10 degrees when I return to normal highway driving @ 60-70mph, and of course increases a little at a stop. But that seems way too high to be correct. Symptoms I've noticed that something is off is that the car feels slower a lot of the time - in 2nd gear and beyond if I go WOT, I notice the boost maybe up until about 3500-4000 rpms, then it feels like it just disappears. Shop also believes that this feeling of "decreased power" is due to the stock clutch starting to slip. If the IAT harness was installed correctly, could it be that the tune did not recalibrate the temps at which the ECU pulls timing?
@VMPPerformanceTV3 жыл бұрын
That definitely sounds like something's not quite right. Email us at sales@vmpperformance.com with this information and our support and tuning staff can assist with what might be going on. Here in Florida, it gets pretty hot and even in traffic/sitting, we're not seeing those types of IATs.

Does the intercooler only take water? I'm assuming up north we would use antifreeze?

In a climate where temps can reach freezing the use of coolant would be suggested.

Do you need to upgrade the clutch, driveshaft, and half shafts to take full advantage of this kit or is it safe to run it with the factory parts? I assume the factory parts will not hold up too long.
@VMPPerformanceTV2 жыл бұрын
It really depends on your intended use of the vehicle. For a enthusiast's vehicle that only see's street driving, they can survive. If your intention is to take the vehicle primarily to the track with a sticky tire, we'd recommend upgrading other components to go along with your supercharger kit. That being said, those components are designed with OEM levels of power in mind and we've seen things break on naturally aspirated set ups. Feel free to reach out, we'd be happy to discuss your goals and make recommendations based on your desired power level and how you plan on using the car.

The big initial killer of driveshafts and axles are shock. The same can be said for the clutch and transmission. If you're driving the car with smooth transitions in an effort to not upset/unsettle the suspension, you'll find minimal shock and likely a pretty good life-span for the parts. The story is completely different for a drag racer or drifter.

Oil pump gears?
@VMPPerformanceTV2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeno. Are you asking if they're needed? Assuming that's the case, oil pump gears and crank sprocket upgrades are typically associated with your style of driving and use of the vehicle. Drifting or drag racing a manual transmission car would warrant considering these upgrades much more than daily driving a 10R80 equipped vehicle. The biggest risk to your OPG and CS have to do with rev limiter strikes and anything that would "shock" the engine such as a two step etc.
