Some people call the princess the cheese wedge but I’ve always thought it had a sleek shape, very aerodynamic . Love the build and am looking forward to seeing more progress. 👍🏻🇬🇧

Relocate the door handles higher up above the swage line. That will streamline the exterior 100% without really losing the original design!

Just discovered your channel and the way you want to modify the princess is to my mind exactly right, especially how you want to preserve some of the original features, good looking cars looking even better with a modern twist

Hi, for me this is a really interesting build to follow. I am doing the exact same thing but to a Volvo Amazon. I bought the S-type, 3.0 manual, a year ago and have used it as a daily since then. The Amazon has been mine since -96 and I have already "mated" it with a ford Granada 2.8 about 15 years ago, but that is getting old now and the increase in power will be fun. I am very interested in what engine mods you will do! Thanks for the nice videos 🙂

I've finally caught up, go me. Loving your channel, great explanations, lovely work, good foresight and fantastic ..... dare I say, classics. I remember my Godfather having a dark brown Princess after his Maxi's whilst my father had Austin 1800 land crabs, the Princess was so radical, a breath of fresh air and it's great to see you doing the project. Thankyou.

What about a boxier version of the escort cosworth spoiler? (Sort of 70’s/80’s pikes peak spec)? I have little to no sketch up skills, but you could sort of extend the roofline whilst maintaining the wedge boot line! And any Marina project could/should be 4WD!!! (X-type running gear maybe?!)

Gullwing doors would be cool. Especially if you could gullwing all 4 doors. Apparently, the Rover V8 fits on the end of the Princess' 2200 gearbox. So presumably a TVR 4.5 or 5.0 version of the Rover V8 would fit... maybe.

For me, other than the obvious mods needed for the wider drive train, it has to stay as much princess as possible . No one does these cars . No one loves them enough so it’s fantastic to see someone doing something with one for a change instead of what everyone else has done - I.e escorts ( like me lol ) . Keep it looking as std as possible imo

Please go back to the supercharged plan instead of the turbos.... yes, less efficient and probably less power with the supercharger but the supercharged whine will have a grin factor on every push of the loud pedal that a turbo will never give. And to hear that sound but see a Princess would be priceless.

Enjoying your unique build However you clearly mis-spoke twice in this video when you said the car would be less than 1 ton. 1 ton is only 2000 lbs or 907.18 kg Not a chance in hell. More like 3000lbs +

@@FabCoUK I don't need to be an expert when its a known fact that 1 ton is 2000 lbs or 907.18 kg The car weighted alot more than that stock. I'm not trying to be a jerk but it's just the truth.
@FabCoUK2 жыл бұрын
@@smavtmb2196 metric ton = 1000kg. The Princess running gear consists of pretty much only cast steel arms and hubs. The engine is also a 6cyl steel block and head. All of the running year from the Jag is aluminium, as is 50% of the engine/box. It is considerably lighter than it was, and I’m not done yet 😁
@smavtmb21962 жыл бұрын
@@FabCoUK You added alot of steal understandably for strength Metric tonne is 1000 kg or 2204.62lbs That's still not much different than the 907.18kg of a standard ton. The princess factory weight was what? Definitely more than 1000kg or 2204lbs If you can get the car under 2204 lbs than great. I wish you luck and I sincerely hope you prove me wrong.
