Those performance upgrades suggest that Trumpet was loved, but the previous owner’s circumstances changed, and so did his priorities. Happily, the bike found a perfect home. Cheers, both!

Love the Simoniz paints, use them all the time. If you’ve got the time and/or the patience 6 - 7 coats of the VHT then baked off under IR lights gives a lovely deep velvety finish. The old girl’s gonna look right pretty when finished 👌

Thanks Nick, I went with 3 wet coats for now, not sure how it's gonna fair being red lined on the dyno, can always add coats later on, just in case it burns off... just getting the leak sealed for now.

Hi mate, thanks for the kind consideration, that's very nice of you... I guess the most obvious choice would, maybe, be a Sportster if you wanted to do such a bike as we spent 2yrs on that, a massive raft of videos, and right down to a bare frame re-paint, just a thought?! I’ve found PJ1 the best for down pipes/exhausts. Still no match for a proper ceramic coating but a nice cheaper alternative that will need re-doing annually. Also, I don’t think there is any need for a PC5, as I said previously TUNE ECU is all you need. You would be able to search for a map that has already been developed for air filter/exhaust and just upload it. I’d love a rocket!!

Well the clear evidence of the Power Commander means it has already had a re-map of some kind, not sure what until we get it plugged in.. but yes, any aftermarket exhuast can benefit from a custom fuel map to get the best from it. All will become clear on Dyno day.!!

I think the light is shining brighter on the reason for the bike running less than optimal. If I was buying a bike familiar to me I’d share your enthusiasm for the PC5 but conversely, I’m not a fan as much when the bike is a stranger. Hope the tuner can identify the cause.

Just as a thought mate, and as a comparison for when we get our dyno results chart, have you got a read out of those figures on a chart? I'd be interested to see what your set up is making right across the rev range, specially low down as sometimes top end figures can come at the cost of bottom end figures, so it'd be interested to see if, if you have one, perhaps you could email a shot of it (if you'd be willing to) as your numbers sound very impressive.

@Moonfleet413 күн бұрын
The leak was on one of the three slip joints between the header pipes and the collector, it wasn't fully inserted at the correct angle and someone had tried to fill the gap with crusty paste, so when I reassemble it (once it's fully dry), some soft heat-proof silicone sealant, and assemble it correctly, will make sure it's totally sealed!
