1/10 Scale Hard body RC prerunner build with full interior lights and long travel trailing arm setup Running on 3s with a Hobbywing EZRun MAX10 Sensorless Brushless ESC/3652SL Motor Combo (5400kV) this thing should rip pretty good once we figure out pinion size. I rebuilt the Element RC Stealth X Gearbox with the zero over drive setup and on a 18t stock pinion with this motor setup its spicy, cracking wheelies spicy. Stay tuned as we build this thing and see if it even works.I picked up a Element Enduro Gatekeeper rtr for super cheap with some Amain credits with the idea to build my first ladder frame railed hard body prerunner. I chose the gatekeeper because it comes stock with a true 4 link solid rear axle and has the ability to run the Element RC IFS Conversion Kit and my plan is to not use the front drives and run it 2wd with some custom long travel king shocks building a 1/10 scale electric rc prerunner baja truck.

Been following the build and decided to get a gatekeeper kit and ifs conversion kit to start my own project for a prerunner/ koh buggy glad to see it can go fast shame there's no open diff kit for them, I did find a knight customs ifs add on to bring the front bash guard up higher so it doesn't bottem out which would be a good thing to try on this can't wait to see the running footage keep it up 👍

first time here, but I do believe you may be the guy that cares enough about real scale to execute this idea I have. Effectively, a two wheel drive Baja Rey but with still functional front breaks.

Just disconnect the the drive shaft from the center diff and you got 2wd baja rey. The braking is do e my the esc and motor

Looks like you run crawler tires a lot? Do you use single cell foam to stop any ballooning? Love the look of crawlers but people say they balloon!

No the wheelspeed is not high enough for ballooning and crawler tires with plastic wheels don't have a ton of mass to balloon. What people say is not the same as,experience and testing. 👍😎

Are the shocks not supposed to be straight up and down or at least inwards on the top ???

Ideally, you want the shock at 90 degrees fully compressed or whats called full bump. In desert style trucks you can get more wheel travel with a smaller shock by angling them. What I did was with the springs off, you fully bump the truck. Mount the shock in the bottom trailing arm and with paper or cardboard and draw a line through the upper shock mounting hole and swing the shark through its arc drawing that arc on the paper. Then at full extension or whats called droop you do the same drawing that arc from the upper mount. Where those two lines interesect is your optimal mounting location. In this truck I wanted the shocks to be below the bed line and you can slightly tune spring rates with angle simulating a softer shock. Hope that makes sense 👍

@dubbleportion Yah its packaging for the body infortunately. In this setup it was running a trailing arm mount that wouldn't allow better placement. You correct in they should be straight up and and down or slightly angled mainly for stability. Since this video its been heavily modified. Its on vanquish trailing arms with my own mounts now. Although not optimal it still worked pretty good. Thanks for asking 👍
