I don't play Project Sekai, but i know a few things (Like world's worst mother) and Mizuki and their sister are definitely my favourite characters....partially because Mizuki's character hits close to home...and i absolutely love Yuuki too...the way she encouraged Mizuki while also being extremely careful not to make it feel like she was forcing her down one road or the other really reminds me of my own sister (and it makes me miss her)

@@Mizu.ki-Akiyamanah i wouldn't say heavily implied. their struggles have always been about expression of what they like compared to expression of gender. also, if mizuki was transfem, like how most ppl think, they would probably talk more femininely (like a girl using boku is seen as tomboyish, but a boy using it is seen as polite/ young). i've always seen their story as being about just loving what you want to love, and being yourself. gender doesn't have to be included in that, but it can.

⁠@@ham_n_porki think you’re trying to say that it’s just implied that mizuki is confused with their gender and not they’re not transfem, right? feel like the story is written so you’d think mizuki is transfem, but maybe due to censorship they can’t explicitly say it. like in this story, kids called mizuki weird for wearing clothes like that since mizuki is a boy in this story (or at least how i see it). i’m pretty sure the uniform mizuki was wearing in middle school was also a male uniform. they also have short hair. the use of boku is probably just a habit, since mizuki was using boku all their life transitioning in high school. they probably don’t mind using boku to refer to themselves either for some reason. maybe because it’s a reminder of the past and how far they’ve gone? that’s my theory at least

Mizuki's gender is said to be nothing in the game, so don't trust the replies because Mizuki is not canonly trans, I do head canon mizuki as a femboy, but I'll use they/ them to avoid conflicts. In their story, it was said that mizuki was born with a feminine body and voice, this is why they were getting bullied in middle school, but since they started wearing the way they like, stuff like feminine fashion, it was more shown that they look like a girl more and more, and for me I think it is just Mizuki's desires, just to let you know, looking like a girl will not make you one, and it'll not make you trans either, and I think this is what mizuki's story is about, you don't have to think about people when you want to do what makes you happy. Their gender is written as unknown because it is literally the whole point of the stories, it's about Mizuki wanting to ignore the whole gender norm stuff and be the person they always desired to be, we did not know mizuki's original gender as a male till last year or something close, so for me the company is either just making stuff more complicated, or they want to leave the idea itself to us to decide. Either you want to take them as a trans figure or as a femboy figure, or simply as a crossdresser it is your choice till the company make everything confirmed.
