PROJECT SLAVE 1 PART 10 ‘PAINTING THE UNDERSIDE’
I’m finally on the home straight, painting Slave 1. I’m using Archive-X acrylics and then weathering with oils. In this episode of Project Slave 1 you can see just how I paint the underside of this studio scale model of Boba Fett’s iconic ship from the Empire Strikes Back. This project deserves a lot more attention. Stunning model, brilliant problem solving, and well made videos. When you're done, you definitely should do a summary video covering the best bits from start to finish. More likely to garner attention from general youtube audience.

Thanks Avon NZ, glad you like the build. I think what I don't like about painting is the uncertainty of colour choice and getting a decent finish. The colour choice on a scratch-built model is more of a problem as there are no instructions. Fortunately my finishing skills are improving... 🤔🙂

This thing just keeps getting more and more amazing. I think I would have printed the inner engine bits in clear/translucent so I could put lights in there.....I have a "thing" about lighted models. Especially space ships. lol Curious if you know how this scales with the Gambody Falcon? I am most likely going to do their Falcon at 75%....when you do the .stl for this beast, I will do it as well. Be cool to keep them in scale to one another as "hero" models.

Glad you like the build so far MrAcuta73. The engines would certainly look pretty cool lit up but I'll leave that to another modeller. It would be great to see Slave 1 and the Falcon in the same scale - an awesome pair.

Great job! It may be useful for you to buy some rubber tipped brushes to use with the masking fluid. Gives better control and the latex masking fluid is easily wiped off the rubber tips.

I did on the wings but then I just applied them straight after the arcrylic colour was fully dried.
