Very cool that these updated chassis members are even available. Slightly surprised to see raw metal get "buried" where there won't be access to treat with rust preventative.

Back when I bought a 68 gt coupe in 1980, there was oem parts, or no parts at all, I'm glad now, 44 years later I've still got mine, the stuff available now is like a dream

My friend bought his ‘68 coupe in 1986. At that time, you could buy used genuine Ford parts, used parts, or a very few reproduction parts. He still has that car, and I’m happy for him that so many aftermarket parts are now available for that car! His car was originally a 200CI 6 cylinder. We swapped in a 302 circa 1990. Around that time, we also swapped in a power steering and power front disc brake setup from a ‘68 Cougar. Decades later, the car has 4 wheel disc brakes and a 400hp crate engine. He drives it like he stole it, and that makes me happy.

After getting a hot BB in the ear once, I was at the welding store and saw one of those welding hats that's like a Snoopy cap. You know, the WWI aviator's cap with the long sides that cover your ears. I bought one. A little hard to keep the welding helmet on with it but it kept the sizzle out of my ears. That's a sweet set up for a mustang. Wonder if they (or someone) has one for a 66 F100.

I've never been a fan of Mustangs. But it's nice that there are so many different parts available to build one pretty much however you want. As long as you have the bank account to cover it anyway. Personally I think I would rather fabricate things myself out of raw materials and parts of Junkyard cars. Not only would it be thousands of dollars cheaper. But also I like to make things. And if I make something, I know that it's the only one there is. Not saying that building a car from a bunch of pre-fabricated parts is easy. But it's definitely easier than making your own parts. That's why I like this channel so much. You'll use pre-fabricated parts when necessary. But you also aren't afraid to make your own or modify existing parts to suit the vehicle. You'd better be glad I don't live near your shop. I'd probably get on your nerves wanting to pick your brain, lend a hand, or possibly get a job😊. But you're lucky. I'm too far away for that. So I just have to bother you in the comments 😊

Yeah, parts aren't cheap but labor isn't cheap either and when it's a customer's car with your shops name and reputation associated with it the cost of the new parts is well worth it in time savings and the overall cleanliness and strength of the build.

It looks like a nice piece. So much nicer than doing a lot of fab work modifying the factory sub-frame and adding subframe connectors... The engine mounts are interesting looking. There's no adjustability so I'm guessing that they already predetermined the angle that the engine will be at when it's installed. Enjoy your race and a couple cold ones...

I find it amazing that you can just about build an entire Mustang from after market body parts. In this one just about the only original parts are the roof and rear tail light panel. Will you move the original Vin plate over to the "new" cowling? I combined two Monti Carlos and had a hard time getting the inspection done as they raised cane about the moved Vin plate. Even with me showing them both titles of the two cars I combined. The original had been in a wreck that ruined everything from the dash forward. I need everything from the lower front door posts forward.
