Is that a 12V system? I know a Ford style starter solenoid is good for 60 amps. We would use them for glow plug relays on VW diesels. Not sure of your application but you've got it covered anyhow. Other engines and applications though, Ford remote solenoids are great! Looks like that rust converter really does it eh?

Yes, the tractor has a12 volt system. I bought a universal solenoid as a replacement for the intake manifold heater solenoid (steel case on it not plastic like so many of the cheapest ones). Not sure of the amps it will take. That rust converter works! I didn't want to spend $80 per jug for it but it is well worth it. As a matter of fact, I just bought a second gallon last month. Good stuff.

@@EverydayProjects Ok Universal solenoid huh? I knew there was a proper name for them but always called them Ford solenoids. Does or did that tractor have an ether injector?

@@heliarche There is no ether injector system on this tractor. No solenoid for one...I don't think it ever had an ether injection system. If I were to ever use ether (I prefer not to...it has blown up many an engine) I would use just a can from NAPA...very sparingly. I know that many people use ether to start their diesels but I was taught to avoid it. That said, it can be helpful on very cold days or on badly worn engines with low compression.

Also, I was taught that the ether should be sprayed on a rag and the rag held up near the air intake while cranking the engine, instead of spraying ether directly into the intake. Right from the can, too much is easily sprayed in and.....KABOOM!!!!

Here is a link to a website that shows a chart of all filters for the 580CK and 580B Case tractors. Be mindful of the serial number of your machine, since some are for older machines. You can use these numbers to search for your filters anywhere. I bought my filters at NAPA, for example.
