Wow! Never thought that I had so many projects lying around. Getting organized is my first step in finishing these. As always, I'd love to hear what you think! How do you organize your projects? How many WIP's (Work In Progress) or UFO's (UnFinised Objects) so you have lying around? Ps. Check out the description of the video for timestamps of the projects.

Hi Irene, I enjoy watching your channel all the way from the United States. When I was watching this episode, you mentioned this town, Zwolle. As a matter of fact, here in the state of Louisiana there is a town also named Zwolle. There were a lot of Dutch immigrants moving into Louisiana after 1803, in the United States. Now I know where they got the name from. Wishing you well on your craft business, Susana
@Sugaridoo6 жыл бұрын
Ha that is funny that you also have a Zwolle. We also both have Haarlem, Harlingen and a lot of street names in Manhattan are Dutch :)

I love watching your videos. They are inspirational. I love the musical notes and would like to make some for my daughter. I just finished a quilt for her that I call "The Music of Her Life". She plays flute. I have leftover fabrics and would like to make the potholders for her as well. I couldn't find the video you have listed. Would you please post a link to it. I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance. ☕✂️🎼 Also I love the Minny pin cushion. Adding the second seem before cutting the small extra is great. I feel so wasteful if I throw away the pieces of fabric. I've seen that done on larger squares to make two half square triangles but didn't think to apply it here. Thanks 😀

What a fun video, Irene! I seem to be really good at starting new projects, but not so good at finishing them. I have a counted cross stitch alphabet sampler that I started for my daughter when she was about 2 years old. She's now 43, and it still isn't done! So don't feel too bad about your UFOs. Your chickens are so cute. And I love the penguins. You're a breath of fresh air. Your videos always make me smile.
@Sugaridoo6 жыл бұрын
Oh wow that is one long running UFO. Are you still working on it? Makes me think about a cross stitch project I have laying around somewhere as well haha.. I like to do some crosstitch in the winter for some reason. Thank you so much for your sweet comment.

Hi Irene, I hope you are doing well, and your family. Irene, I am wondering if you have ever had the desire to do a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt? I love the way you explain in such wonderful detail, and it is one pattern I would love to do, but am afraid and would like to “work” with someone that can explain the process. Thank you for your lovely videos. Your son Jude is adorable. As I am sure you have been told, children grow up so fast, so enjoy the time with them. Alll the very best to you my dear. :)

It’s always fun to see everyone’s ufo piles. I think mine is a few more than yours at the moment but after many years of quilting I am allowing myself to just let go of something’s I am not interested in anymore. It’s pretty freeing. I do love your crochet projects, I have never been able to do it but your sweet animals make me want to try again.

Everything you make is always so adorable! I have a LOT of unfinished projects too, but one day I'll get them done! Maybe for your Crochet Blanket you can add a wide border around it? I've made blankets that turn out too narrow so I just add a fancy border using front/back post double crochets.

hi irene lovely video i so like your project you got a unique style i have a question for you. how do you choose you're fabrics i love the colours you choose together i get overwhelmed by all the different kind of fabrics out there and rather have someone give me ten colours to work with than having to make a choice myself thanks keep up the good work
@Sugaridoo6 жыл бұрын
Hi Chrissy, thank you so much! What a good question. I'm putting it on my list to make a video about. I often go to Pinterest and look for color schemes. Just to see how I like colors together. And then dive in to my fabric collection to get different shades of those colors. Hope this helps a bit!

Going from project to project is called the crow syndrome the crow picks up an object then goes along and sees something better he drops the first object and picks up the second hops along sees the next item drops the one he has picks up the new one and he does this over and over. We start a project sees something better and. ....... . Someone told me this once because I was doing it and they were trying to stop me, and I got it anyway. Xo
@Sugaridoo6 жыл бұрын
Haha! Yess I definitely feel like a crow when I'm in my studio. 'Ooh I could do this or that, or ooh look at that pretty yarn'.. and then a new WIP is born. But I'm going to tackle more WIPs from the 1st of October! You can check out my blog on the 1st if you'd like to join 😊

I L O V E Sugaridoo! Thanks for this wonderful WIP video, Irena, for sharing all of your adorable projects. I hope soon there will come a day when I can see a video on KZbin, hear that there is a "crochet party", or a "KreaDoe" or other crafts-y event happening, and say to myself, "I'd like to go to that"... and then I'll just book a flight, book a hotel and GO! I'd love to see the Netherlands, I hear it is beautiful! (Actually, my sister-in-law's mother [her name is "Emmerance", but she hates her name so she calls herself "Emmy". But I LOVE her name-- is it genuinely Dutch? I think it sounds French... anyways, Emmy] was born there and left with her family when she was 9 for Granada and then Canada when her asthma prevented her from being able to live in the humidity of Granada. My SIL's "Opa" said he wanted to move his family to Canada, because the Canadian military liberated Holland from Germany all those years ago, and they still remember. Can't wait for that day when I can see it too! ~Diana from Toronto
@Sugaridoo6 жыл бұрын
Hi Diana! Wow that would be so great. If you do visit the Netherlands someday please let me know! There are so many beautiful things to see over here. I'm not sure Emmerance is genuinely Dutch, sounds a bit Fresh indeed. I also have family that moved to Canada. Love from Holland

Do you have a desire to make a quilt that is "Dutch?" Or what non-Dutch people think of as Dutch? Wooden shoes, Windmills, Cheese wheels, tulips, bicycles (cargo style), flag, "Amsterdam Houses/canals/bridge" Nijntje, Flipje - fries, matjes haring, stroopwaffle (Now I'm getting funny)
@Sugaridoo6 жыл бұрын
Oh that sounds awesome! Haha what a fun idea. Maybe something to think about for the future. Haha or just make a huge stroopwafel quilt. I would love to sleep underneath that. Ha!
@aprilbuckland79556 жыл бұрын
I think that if you are a quilter and do any kind of crafty projects, that you will have some UFO's on the go. Sometimes you need to step back and reset your brain. As for my UFO's, if you count quilts or bags, etc that I have purchased material for and not started... then I am NOT going to answer that question, lol!!
