Truly a great series. You've helped a lot. Maybe a tour of that reloading room, describing each station, is a video you could do?

Once fire formed did you find the cases stretched a little to nearer the length of true 32-40 specs?

Nice review. I have been waiting for Hornaday to make their 117 gr. And 110 gr bullets for the 25-35 for almost two years. These are terrible times for reloaders in the US.

Very good results, accuracy is everything and your first group was excellent. The only thing I would have done different would have been to use Winchester 32 Special brass instead of 30 30. Since the bore is the same as the 32 40 the 32 Special should be easier to resize? I have been reloading for my 38 55 since the early 80's, but find it hard to get the same accuracy as Winchester factory amo. I hope you enjoy your John Wayne Commerative for many years.

Thanks, I watched all 3 videos and found I them very interesting. I have my great grand fathers Winchester 32 40 and shoot hot hand loads that my dad made from 30 30 brass with jacketed led flat nose hollow points. I hope to take a whitetail deer open sight with this rifle.

Thank yoy, @BoredTexasBoys . It is a great gun. Hope you’ll get the whitetail deer, soon 😉

Goodmorning, can you help me? I write you from Italy, wath type of vithavuori powder can i use for 32 40 caliber with 170 grains bullets? Thanks so much

What size neck expander did you use for the 30-30 cases? Adriel.

I tried my Model 94 on metallic silhouette -30-30 and I had to get a butt pad to save my shoulder. Stock sights worked fine (this was at least 10 years ago). Peep sights would be a better option for what you are doing. Just watched a video on the 30-40 from Johnnies Reloading Bench. It was his grandfathers falling block rifle - probably a better action to mount a scope on. Anyway, his grandfather, with proper brass, was experiencing case splitting about a third was way down the case. Annealing seems to be indicated in his case. If you have not seen his video it may provide some more information for you.

Hi Tor Arne Thanks for great videos And thank for sharing this knowledge with us. Small question I have, now almost 6 months after Your testshooting: How these cases are doing without annealing? Does it work without or do I realy have to anneal it? Thanks in advance for Your answer. This week I got my Winchester 1885 in 32-40 and want to start preaparing ammo. Life is great Take care

Hi Hasan 😊 I have not had the time to do a lot of shooting this summer, so I am actually not sure if you need to anneal. If you plan to shoot a lot with your gun, I think I would do it. It won't hurt 😉

Thanks for doing this video. I subscribed. If you like tos ave money use cast bullets. The accuracy at 50 meters will be the same and the rifle will function as it should. On animals cast bullets are very good. Pointed bullets are for long range ballistics which is not necessary in this rifle. Cast bullets at about 1300 feet per second will be very accurate. They can be driven to 1600 fps without leading the barrel. Cheers!

You have the most beautiful rifle in the world 🌎, what size bullets you buy? In decimal measurement?
@davidgardner863 Жыл бұрын
I cast my own lead bullets. Once you get past the initial cost of the equipment, you can make tons of bullets almost free especially if you can scrounge up scrap lead. Also you can custom make bullets for a specific rifle and lead is easier on bore wear.
