Finally launched after a 10 year rebuild - Project Brupeg Ep. 325

There are two parts to launching Brupeg; the preliminary wet test, where we check to see if there are any leaks in the new hull plates or seacocks and the second part is the actual launch where we set her free!
In this episode Brupeg leaves the cradle in the hardstand for the last time. After years of work and dedication by the crew and volunteers, Bundaberg Port Marina team help us lower Brupeg into the Burnett River in Queensland, Australia and we find out if our welds have any leaks (which would mean pulling an all-nighter to fix them) so that we can make the high tide launch the following day on Oct Friday the 13th (not that we are superstitious)...

"Fixing a rusty boat" (ep 13) was the first time I saw Brupeg. A friend told me "check in these guys - they also have a rusty boat - haha" I have half the boat of you and made it in 5 years - Goood speeed in other words 🙂 Fantastic to see the two girls in the air and then in the water - uh, one of them (not Jess). Dear Jess and Damian, We’re are very happy for you and everybody who worked with getting Brupeg in the condition as she’s now that with the first launch there didn’t appear any leaks. Willeke said during watching this vlog that Brupeg was looking a lot smaller than in the dry dock so I explained her that first of all she was a not too big fishing trawler and secondly that every boat looks smaller in the water than in a dry dock😀. We look forward to your next vlog where Brupeg will be launched to stay in the water. We realize that there still need to be done a lot in special with the interior finishing but it won’t take too long before Brupeg will be completely ready for sailing over the oceans. I keep my chimney out the water when not in use, when I pop her in each year, it always surprises me ho w different it feels and how much smaller she looks in the water. To go from still solid land dwelling to always moving takes a few hours to acclimatise too. Have fun and well done!
