Good job - wet sanding is an art, takes some time to learn.

it sure does! just when you think you've got it the universe forces you to learn something new! haha. totally humbling

Damn Danno! You are an animal with this Jeep! You have a full restoration on your hands! You are on point with not wanting to paint on a half empty can. The projects I have ruined for want of another $7 can of paint...

Thanks for the shout out lol.. hey for a rattle can job it came out fine... the only thing I’d recommend you doing in the future if you chose the rattle can method is to use an automotive grade 2 stage clear coat... it’s very difficult to blend the clear, usually you need to wet sand the entire panel you’re touching up and then respray the clear on the entire panel...
Your absolutely right! I'll definitely check that out... Hopefully we can collaborate next time I'm spraying something!

‘Don’t be afraid of the run’- LOL! I’m going to use you as ‘movie clips’ for sayings 😂 And I’ll never hear that Kings of Leon song the same ever again! Hiccups 🤦♀️ Great job on the paint job! Looks good! ❤️🐞

Great Work! Hope this is not a silly question but I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4, Slate Gray and I love it. Question can I just spray Base and Clear Coat without using that hand held buffer, maybe just clean, sand and spray. Not experienced, things are so expensive, was willing to try. There's a small fading area on driver's side right below hood.

@ProjectDanH5 жыл бұрын
I used some paint from EBAY and some from automotivetouchup.com. both were sourced using a search of the paint code PJ7 CHARGOLD METALLIC. I honestly like the spray pattern from eBay can nozzle better.
@markthompsoncpa5 жыл бұрын
Primer comes in different shades. Does primer shade affect base coat shade?
@ProjectDanH5 жыл бұрын
Nah, not really but I like to stick with a lighter primer if I paint a light color, and if your painting black stick with a darker color.

Dan you should just do the whole zj in different areas so it looks like a cameleon paint job !

That's a great idea! Especially since there's alot of blemishes to touch up! Haha
@thecherokeechannel6885 жыл бұрын
Not bad. For cheap and diy I would still do it. Im gonna rattle can mine matte black. Just because i dont think a 20 yr old jeep justifies an almost 2k dollar paint job anymore.
@Whiteandsonsgarage5 жыл бұрын
The Cherokee Channel so true, would cost more than the Jeep, have you thought about raptor liner?

Yea, I know what you mean.. I'm more inclined to spend a day prepping and just bang out 10 or so spray cans.

That's very nice of you to say. I've been messing with cars and DIY jobs as far as I could remember. Probably half the stuff I learned was from my father, and the other half was from my own experiences. Don't be afraid to give stuff a try. You end up learning from both your successes and failures.
