It's been a long time since I've been moved to tears by music. The song started with such a bright energy, and the hopeful lyrics made me think about new beginnings. You know that feeling when everything seems possible? It reminded me of being a kid, lying in bed too excited to sleep because mom and dad promised to take us to the amusement park the next day. When I heard the lyrics 'After you I follow, Forever my hero,' I thought about my parents. Looking at their backs as they walked ahead of me, holding my hands - they seemed so strong, so reliable. Back then, I really believed they could protect me from anything and everything bad in the world. My parents taught me so much about life and showed me new things every day. They were my whole world... At least, that's how it was when I was young. 1, 2, 3, 4 - just as the song counts up cheerfully, everything changes completely. "I fall down the horseback with my crippled legs And then it starts to rain Showing me it's all fake" ... After that, the lyrics turn dark, like they're saying nothing in the world is real. It hits close to home, reminding me of my teenage years. That's when I found out about our family's debt. And that's when wake up from a dream. Then other family problems came up, and suddenly my parents - the ones I looked up to so much - started to seem different. Yeah, they became the people who could make my blood boil in seconds. Every word out of their mouths felt like an attack. It's funny - I used to be the kid who couldn't even kill bugs, always carefully taking them outside. But during those years, I was just... angry. All the time. Slowly filling up with negative feelings I didn't know how to handle. The happy memories of those amusement park days? They felt like they happened to someone else. "I wasn't myself I don't know who I am..." The lyrics repeat "Who am I?" I kept it together on the outside, but inside? I hated myself. I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life or who I was supposed to be. Just stressed and lost, going through the motions. Then the music suddenly gets upbeat again. But... "Just let me be your fan I wanna be your fan I'm still your biggest fan" The lyrics sound energetic and bright, sure. But to me, it sounds more like someone forcing themselves to smile while breaking inside. Like they're desperately trying to say "Hey, look! I did all this for you!" It's supposed to be about doing things for others, but really, it's about wanting someone - anyone - to notice you, to say you did good. It made me think about how I used to study just because my parents said so, exercise because they wanted me to. Playing the perfect son role. None of it was really for me - I was just acting the part they wanted me to play. "I am my biggest fan,, I am my enemy and my friend" .... When I finally got through those teenage years and things started to calm down in my head, I figured something out. I realized I needed to stand on my own two feet and live my own life. Even when I'm not sure about my choices, or when things feel uncertain, I know now that the real problem was how negative I was about everything. I learned that I have to trust myself, and that I'll only find real happiness by living life my way - not someone else's. So these days, I'm doing things because I want to do them And now. My relationship with my parents is actually pretty good now Thanks for reading all of this. English isn't my first language, so I spent a lot of time trying to get the words right.

The change going from the first part of the song to the second feels like a child who idolizes their parent when they’re younger and then as they grow up they realize their parent is actually a horrible person. While Canto 6 may forever be my personal favorite (Heathcliff is literally me), Canto 7 was, like any other canto, something else. If there's one thing I had to say that hasn't been said by anyone yet, it would be how much I love Don "waking up" from the physical dream (a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep, as the Oxford dictionary put it), only to eventually get back up to continue the psychological dream (a cherished aspiration, ambition, or ideal) after encouragement from the other sinners (and especially my goat Sinclair), who had also grown a fair bit during this canto. another thing I haven't seen anyone mention yet is how, yeah, Don isn't the only one who grew this canto, the other sinners did to, to an extent. I'm glad to have this be the first canto I experience live, and I expect greater things to come from both Mili and especially Project Moon. Let us all gallop on, together.

I really love the themes of this canto being completely opposite to the usual "deulsions = bad" PM does every game. Really in line with the original Don Quixote, advocating that being "too sane" is also bad because you concentrate on harsh reality too much and forget your dreams because the world is unforgiving and you should be more realistic with your aspirations.

@@RauxlenDifferent perspective here. I idolized my mother as she was the first female doctor in her household and she would show me her clinical powerpoints at a young age. I am a man so i am not supposed to be emotional but i am, my sisters were encouraged to go to medicine but not me… I have dissapponted my parents and family too much by being a failure in my childhood and even my early adult years but.. I still have a dream. I am unreliable and tempestuous and even as an adult i may fail but still.. I want to go to healthcare( i am in nursing school now and will be nurse) regardless of what my parents say or don’t believe in me- i still remember how my mom used to feel so tired but so rewarded after helping a patient.. the mother who sacrificed her career as a doctor to prepare for a better future for her kids in another country. Her pride and joy in being the first woman to prove to her household and inspired my female cousins and my sisters to pursue higher education such as lawyer and doctors.. Regardless of being called a failure of being a loser oldest son I will still pursue that dream my mother used to have regardless of what they think. I have to admit I wished i was supported more, instead of being coddled and looked down on because of the fact that i may be emotional and sensitive. I learned that to be emotional and sensitive can be a strength not a weakness- to be human and to not be a machine. We have our dreams and epilogues to continue- just like sancho let us move past the past and embrace it then become our heroes. I can only hope that once i graduate perhaps i can finally get acceptance just like don quixote finally acknowledged sancho’s willingness to continue their shared dream.

The first canto I got to experience with everyone else at (roughly) the same time. The boss here was just… I’ve consistently cried at the climax of every canto ever since 4, but when this song started to play against the giant Ferris Wheel phase, I shed a couple tears because of how insanely cool the set piece was, combined with the emotional weight of the story. I am glad to be officially aboard Mephistopheles.

I just realised that the figurines around the character represent the lyrics(or Sancho), happily galloping on a horse(rocinante), living her dream, then falling off the horse as reality comes back to her and, finally, standing back up and going back onto rocinante and continuing her dream in the end.

actually the person on the horse is the OG don quixote (on the left half) notice how he has short hair (even though don quixote’s hair is long af) and there is a also a little person on the back of the horse which probably represents sancho who later carries on the og dons dream

@ Indeed, I think that makes a bit more sense than what I said, I didn’t really look at the character’s hair too much but now that you mention it, Don Quixote falling and Sancho taking the dream in his stead
