The story is based on JJ Astor, one of the richest men in the world who was on the Titanic and helped other, lower class people onto lifeboats which resulted in him not surviving. A very honorable man.

I've listened to the Director commentary for this episode they included the movies as a few episodes a piece to fill in to episode 100 a little early. They wanted to include the game so they could make the episode even sooner.
