I have absolutely no interest in working on a Ford. I just love to watch you work. No drama, cussing, swearing , music or sales. Excellent camera work and lighting. True professionalism. Thank you and god bless.

Thanks, I'm always second-guessing my camera/lighting. I appreciate the positive feedback!

Good videos for these 7.3 Power Strokes! I've had my 2001 F350 since 2004 and do all maintenance and mods myself. Without videos like yours, I'd be dead on the road! Just got my truck back together yesterday after doing almost the exact upgrades that you are doing. Loving the results so far👍 You asked us to comment about the oil crossover line (which I've just installed from Riff Raff) and there is a noticeable difference in how it sounds. Quieter and smoother. Even my wife noticed when I drove her to an appointment this morning. Had a bad oil leak from the EBPV pedestal and the stock fuel line (front driver side) so since I had to get in that deep, decided to address other things...... KC Turbo Billet S300 CHRA GTP-38 Turbo Center Cartridge KC Turbo up-pipes Banks downpipe and intermediate pipe Banks Transcommand FXR crossover fuel lines FXR replacement fuel lines Riff Raff EBPV delete pedestal Riff Raff banjo bolts Riff Raff plenum inserts and boots fuel bowl rebuild valve cover gasket replace two new Bosch 130 amp alternators for my dual alternator set up I'm not fast and a bit OCD. I can't help but want to clean and paint/polish things while I'm in that deep. If I get a new leak or issue arise, I want to be able to see where it's coming from and these 7.3's get nasty looking after time. My garage is chaos and I got a little overwhelmed a couple times. Videos like yours help me take a deep breathe and move forward. Thanks guys! Keep 'em coming

This was an awesome comment!! Thanks so much for the info. I also think it improved the idle quality on this one. You sound just like my buddy who owns the truck. Not worried about fast, but wants to make things right while he's in there.

I have the riff raff FRX (fuel rail crossover) and HPX (high pressure crossover) on my ‘99 7.3L. I did notice the idle is much smoother and the high pressure oil doesn’t have spikes anymore. That FRX really quieted down the injectors since they don’t “deadhead” anymore and the fuel actually returns from the heads now. Also changing out all 4 fuel banjo bolts in the heads and getting rid of the fuel check valve fittings gives you all the free fuel flow you could ever want.
@ProjectTimeGarage5 ай бұрын
I did notice a much cleaner idle quality. I'm going to go ahead and do the HPX to my personal truck as well I think. Thanks for the info!
@JLCmike40145 ай бұрын
@@ProjectTimeGarage definitely get the FRX to solve the “deahead” issue on the fuel side of the injector too. The engine really smooths out then and you can also change the fuel pressure to your liking by swapping out the regulator spring. Also changing all 4 banjo bolts in the heads removes any restrictions the fuel runs into. Diesels love fuel so i remove any restriction to keep the injectors happy.

I would love to tell all my friends about ya but I don't even know your name or your buddies name with the $500 beast that's becoming a priceless powerhouse powerstroke😄👍👍. I've been stockpiling new parts for my 2000 F-350 7.3 for a couple of years now, got a bunch just about everything but I'm not able to work on my truck like I use to and it's hard to find a good powerstroke mechanic where I live, there's a few but I wouldn't let them work on a skateboard, if ya know what I mean, lol. I'll find somebody one of these days but for now you keep putting out these powerstroke'N videos and I'll keep watching and I won't get so depressed my friend. Take Care and God Bless 🙏. ~Jay~

Better get her done the new Gen won't know anything about the 7.3 if you wait too long.
@starman11115 ай бұрын
Hope you can find the time, energy or help you need out there my friend. These trucks are a blast and it's fun, but yeah it's still work to get it done. Best wishes for your project.

Chris and Bryan - Send your buddies to this channel, I'd love to have them. I also have a decent stockpile of 7.3 and 6.0 parts in storage, just in case. I feel the same way as @mrbmd710, newer generations won't know much about this older iron.

Thanks, it's pretty fun to make too. We have quite a bit more to do before it's considered "done".

Had one of them xover lines on mine as well.. but was stock international/ford type. Had that damned line burst, going only ‘bout 30 mph.. she stopped INSTANTLY ‘but’, within those only say, 4 some seconds of that burst/pop, she shot out GALLONS of freakin’ slimy ass Powerstroke motor oil “E V E R Y W H E R E”!!!!!!!!!!!! What a freakin’ MESS!!!! I opted to eliminate that, instead of replacing. Never noticed anything different of how she runs. My f-250 is a 2000 and now @ 380K on ODO; still running strong. Had to re-Oring turbo pedestal to block @ 4 months ago… super PAIN IN THE FKN ASSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! But at least isn’t of the earlier style w/4 bolt flange mount; I’ve heard/read horror stories about them. Mine’s 4x4 Lariat SC/SB.. fuel cell’s rock guard was badly dented up by previous owner. Back when I dropped fuel cell to clean out old algae diesel, i then noticed how severe that dented rock guard really was, as that damage had placed major pressure up against the middle zone of cell, having CRUSHED the pickup tubes’ foot screen. Chose to not replace them two filters of pickup system (yes, those were EXTREMELY FILTHY & blocked), “harpooned” fuel inlet neck. Hammered out that rock guard back to as flat/straight as I could but, even after leaving that ABS plastic cell in direct 100° sunlight for a day, I believe its bottom shape “remembered” its warped shape (from previous guard damage), as my fuel sender is WAY not accurate anymore!! When it reads @ 1/8th tank, it’s OUT OF FUEL! 🤬 (don’t ask how I figured this one out!). This one in vid, having been scored for $500, means that even if its owner ends up having to sink in $5,000 for repairs &/or, neglected routine maintenance issues, it’ll STILL be worth every penny! Got mine for $3,000 knowing up front it had MAJOR routine maintenance neglect issues… I’ve sunk at least $2,500 into it, just to getter back to daily-driver road-worthy reliable once again

I've only seen pictures of a high pressure oil line failure, but I bet it's a mess.

I had the hpop xover line and never noticed anything different. I ended up removing it one time because it was in the way and could never get it to stop leaking after putting it back on so I pulled it for good. On my other truck I put on the cncfab hpop lines and flexible xover and again noticed nothing different there either. I like the idea of it and it can’t hurt to have it.
@ProjectTimeGarage5 ай бұрын
That's kinda my thought as well. Couldn't hurt.

Nice video. I assume you pre-serviced the fuel filter housing? Not a diesel mechanic. Sounded great. Looks like 10 Lbs. of stuff in a 5 Lb. hole. Looking forward to the next video.
@ProjectTimeGarage5 ай бұрын
Yeah, there's a LOT of stuff in there. Luckily most of the stuff is big and bulky so each thing you remove opens up a ton of room.
@Diesel_ftw5 ай бұрын
You have a major squeaking noise coming from somewhere on the accessory drive.
@ProjectTimeGarage5 ай бұрын
Yeah, and it drives the owner absolutely crazy. He's replaced everything - I mean absolutely every single piece that spins. It stopped for like a month, then just started back one day.

Too bad no ebpv delete
@ProjectTimeGarage4 ай бұрын
Yeah, should have done that, but the new turbo didn't have the Back Pressure valve anyway, so even though the solenoid is still there, the airflow is still same as with the delete.

I am giggling at the struggles with the turbo, just went thru it 3 times thanks to help from sun in law, been there done that.
