Caricature of a Caricature

Time for some EXTREME EXAGGERATIONS! This exercise will help improve your caricatures while still maintaining a likeness. Get more examples at proko.com/caric...
One of the most fun and effective techniques to push your exaggeration skills is to make a caricature of a previous caricature drawing. And then to caricature THAT caricature! You’ll find that if you do this enough, you’ll be able to improve which features you exaggerate while still keeping the likeness of your subject. It’s an exercise that’s meant to be fun so don’t worry too much about going overboard with your drawings.

Why is it a cheap swipe? Do you think caricature is simply a way to attack and demean the subject? It is an art form. It is difficult to do well and requires a lot of focus and skill. This course tries to teach how to caricature using many physical types as examples. Celebrities and other well known faces are the best to caricature because everyone is already familiar with their likenesses. I had to eventually draw Trump in one of these lessons. To ignore the most significant pop culture figure in the world would seem odd. If you are offended at my subject in this lesson, perhaps you would enjoy lesson 8, where I caricature his recent opponent, Hillary. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIaohKqlhLWJhac
