PROLOGUE - The Wind Waker: English Dub - Second Quest

*From the Diary of Sage-Queen Zelda the Farseer* Link, I know you won’t be able to read this, but I need to write this down all the same. The pain is too much for me to bear alone. Today marks 7 years since the Evil King was sealed away in the husk of the Sacred Realm. 7 years since I saw the infinite expanse of time tearing apart before my eyes as he struggled to keep you down despite his horrific transformation. 7 years since I sent you home in the hopes you might reclaim the childhood I stole from you all those years ago. This day, every year, I find myself questioning if I made the right decision back then. I still hold the Triforce of Wisdom, so I _should_ be able to see all kinds of net positives for letting you have some peace. Yet on this day, every single year, the Triforce shows the opposite: The Triforce of Courage is now shattered in the absence of its proper bearer, the champion of all the people of Hyrule is no longer there to help them rebuild, the Master Sword is now left with no one to wield it should evil return. The list goes on, and yet I find myself questioning the divine wisdom I was gifted when you were trapped in the Temple of Time. My heart aches whenever I hear someone mention the name “Link”. Hylians see you as an all around good person, the Gorons see you as a hero, the surviving Gerudo see you as a member of their ranks (Some even claim you were sent from the goddesses as divine retribution for Ganondorf’s actions, and as a new King to rule in his place). Yet I’m the only one who knows you as the orphaned Kokiri boy, Ordo, and I’m the one who sent you away without asking for your input. It’s that last point that pains me the most: You never asked to be a part of any of this, you were told to meet me by the dying Deku Tree, and you were told to retrieve the Master Sword by a little girl listening too closely to a bad dream. I’m the one who stole your childhood, and I felt in my heart of hearts that I needed to return it to you. But no one ever asked how _you_ felt about it all. I never bothered asking if you wanted to go home and reclaim your stolen time, or if you wanted to stay here and help people rebuild their lives. I never once thought to ask your permission to join in my stupid one-girl crusade against the machinations of powers beyond our control. All I ever did was push you around and use you as a tool in my own war, just like so many people in your life had done before. I know you can’t read this letter no matter its sincerity, I know you can’t hear my prayers despite their volume, I know you can’t see the tears I shed for you on this day every year, but none of that matters to me in this moment. In this single moment of time, I choose to speak from my heart in the hopes that somehow, somewhere, somewhen, you might be able to understand me right now. If I were to reform the full Triforce at this very moment, I wouldn’t wish for the eternal prosperity of my kingdom, I wouldn’t wish for the end of Ganon’s influence on this world, I wouldn’t wish to send myself back to join you in reclaiming our childhood. All I’d ever wish for is the chance to simply speak with you again and beg you to forgive me for all my mistak It seems you made the choice yourself, Ordo. You made a choice that I fully understand, even if it will leave a gaping hole in my heart for the rest of my days. Instead of arguing the point, I’m going to ensure that everyone remembers you as the selfless, kind, brave, strong, and loving hero I knew you were ever since our eyes first met in our childhood days. I know you despise me now, but if you ever decide to come back here, I will make damn sure you’re given the hero’s welcome you deserve. If you ever find your way here, Ordo, I want you to feel like you’ve come home. Home… where you would want to be when the fighting is over… the way you wish to be… I’m sorry for everything I did to you. All I ask for now is forgiveness.

Windwaker is one of those GameCube games I enjoyed back in the day. From slicing enemies to treasure hunting all the way to sailing across sea, this Zelda game makes you wanna be a pirate. But I have no idea that this is directly tied to one of diverted timelines that is made in the events of Ocarina of Time. The Prologue is very well narrated since the Hero of Time didn’t return after Ganondorf is freed from his imprisonment and the people of Hyrule put fate to the goddesses; flooding the entire kingdom to it’s watery grave.

Happy to know you guys are also preparing to redub this old project too 😊. The first one was very good, can't wait to see how you guys go about doing this new version. Jesse Donovan did a great job narrating the prologue (I wonder if he'll be voicing the Great Deku Tree 😆), and the reorchestration was also superb 👌. Well done, hope things go well for this upcoming series 😁.

I have a poster of this prologue inside my room and read it so often I can't even guess how many times. From now on I will probably will read this inside my head with this voice; amazing job, looking forward for the next parts of this project.

@@XX-sp3tt I’ll admit, I’ve never considered making a journal for Hyrule Warriors. I think the sheer scope of it kinda intimidated me away from questioning how a journal would be set up. As for OoT, that’s down to the whole time travel aspect clashing with my personal philosophy when making the journals: Write as if they’re actual physical objects. Since we _still_ don’t know how time travel affects things in OoT, I’d need to figure out how the actual journal would be affected in-universe.

I just want to say that even though I'm an American, I'm probably in the minority of Americans who don't hate Tingle. Even though he is technically a little greedy the fact remains that near every spot where there's a Triforce chart the jars are full of so many rubies that actually does make it so you have your money to spend on his prices. Besides he literally mails you a chart that shows you exactly where you should start looking for the Triforce charts called The incredible chart and even point out the two locations where you can find two great fairies to give you a bigger wall at the moment you spring him from jail. Heck you can actually visit both fairies and get the biggest wallet before even getting the third Pearl. Also I think the reason why they had those high prices and money sink is because in Ocarina of Time it was pretty easy to fill up your wallet and not really have that much worthwhile to spend it on that you could just get for free in other ways. When here they kind of try to justify reason to pick up every Rupees you see by having those high prices and even encourage you to go out and look for rupees in chests, under the Sea, etc.
