Someone has just commented to me that if cold it will be dry. That is a myth - as otherwise how would you get cold at all? That myth is that often in the UK, when it is cold in winter it is anticyclonic. If you have an anticyclone to our west or north, you will get snow in the north and east at least, as very cold air flowing over a warm sea becomes unstable.

yes because we dont get too much cold weather,and the media therefore hype it up as if it is going to be armaggedon.
