I like the little detail they’ve added in for the name of the Engineer Xenomorph; since the engineers are a sort of representation of God, the Xenomorph that comes from them is called a Deacon, and a Deacon is a role in the Catholic Church (a role bellow priests). Really cool!

I love kill counts and cinema sins/wins so I can just watch a summarized version of movies that I think could be interesting if they weren’t carbon copies of each other. I guess it’s the same with most movies actually; Terminator series, All Heist movies, I know what you did last summer, conjuring, Jason movies, Friday the 13th, Scream. I don’t understand why every movie has to stick to the story circle man it makes me lose interest in almost every single movie. Absolutely disappointing
@riquelmeone2 жыл бұрын
no, absolutely disagree. The beauty of the original Alien is that we had the unknown of the space jockey. And with Prometheus the freedom of the viewer's fantasy was taken away and we were given a complete nonsense story of creators. The space jockey could have been so much more.
@icemav57402 жыл бұрын
Prometheus and Covenant completely ruined the mystery and intrigue of the original film and series. I never wanted to know what the space jockey was or where it came from. Not to mention the completely stupid plot twist that the Space Jockeys/Engineers created humans for no reason whatsoever. And adding to that, why the hell couldn't Scott just leave the Xenomorphs be actual aliens and not David's creations? The factor that made the original film so good is the fact that we had no idea where the Xenomorph evolved and it was just the perfect predatory organism. There was no need for them to be practically artificial creations. He also created a massive plothole in the timeline. Prometheus is set 30 years before Alien, and Covenant is set 20 years before Alien. According to Covenant, Xenomorphs never came into existence until 2104, and that wasnt even a Xenomorph, it was a Protomorph. So somehow, in the 18 years between Covenant and Alien, an Engineer got his hands on thousands of non existent Xenomorph eggs, crashed his ship on LV-426, and according to Alien, was there long enough to be fossilized (hundreds of thousands of years at the very least). The sheer amount of stupidity that the writers required to actually produce these movies still baffles me

In interviews, Ridley Scott often refers to the Xenomorphs as dragons. This might because the term Xenomorph is not used until Aliens, maybe, or because that is how Scott views the creatures. I love Prometheus and Covenant, warts and all, and find the characters to be relatable and their motives clear. There are some deleted scenes from Prometheus that better explain Fifield and Millburn's motivations, but essentially those two characters had no idea they were on a trip to find aliens, like many of the characters, and that Millburn is trying to win over Fifield's respect. Also for example, Meredith is motivated by her desire to be seen as an equal in her father's eyes. She is extremely competitive with David, who is seen by Peter as his heir.
