For me, Promises Promises is the quintessential 80s new wave song. The synths, guitar and bass all flow so naturally. I love the funk of the bass, it’s really the heart and soul that drives the track. You nailed it. Great job!

I was pumping gas and this song was on the Sheetz's speakers. Damn thing got stuck in my head. So I did a search, watched the original Naked Eyes video and the sound quality was poor. Man, you absolutely knock this out of the park.....It is difficult to play in the pocket and have a part this busy to execute... Your delivery and sound are A++ One of those rare absolutely fabulous pocket songs where the rhythmic playing of everybody in this band, including the phrasing of the singer, is super tight and makes the song timeless. This bassline brings out the Chic in the song (plus with the rhythm guitar playing the top 3 strings, a Nile Rodgers vibe). You really didn't deviate from what was played, other than this of course is upfront because it's a bass cover. Thank you. Love it.
