This is a great video. Thanks! I have a few questions for you. I just recently tried to do my first custom paint job on an area 51 bronco it wasn’t the white ready to paint one. I did realize afterwards that I sprayed the clear on way too fast after painting the body. I used the Tamma primer to Mya paint and the Tamia Matt clear i’m thinking of redoing it when you said not to do multiple layers of the mat clear do you mean not to do multiple layers too fast or just only do one coat? I’ve had issues with the paint. Scratching off my first time rubbing up against rocks, is one coat of matte, clear gonna be enough to help protect it or pointy rocks just gonna scratch it off no matter what. My next question is and you mentioned this briefly can I do a clearcoat over one of Traxxas colored bodies to help protect it and get rid of that plastic sheen? If so, are there any details? I need to know about doing that that could cause problems or mess it up ?

Man, the Defender looks awesome! Knocked this one out of the park! I wasn't big fan of the Defender body because of the weight, but after seeing this body mod and how great it looks with the patina, my mind is changed! I'll be headed to the LHS to pick up this body for my TRX-4m! I bought the blue Bronco and it is a very cool rig! These little guys are quickly becoming my favorite rigs to wheel! Looking forward to seeing more when you get your rigs!

You can also chop the stock body..and even make the chop right after the front seat..and maybe still use the roofrack ..like some Australien LC 70 have.. I like the long bed more..gives more of a pick-up scalelook..and than put some acc on the bed and roofrack.

@@ProNoobRC I dig the soul bowl...been doing a bit with foam and plaster cloth with mortar mix. May use some Portland cement as well for smoother rocks

Just be sure to have fun with it! Also keep a truck close by while you were building so you can test everything out and you don’t have to rework it like we did

What was done to the Bronco off to the right of the frame? It looks lifted? Also, that truck style Defender looks awesome! It seems to crawl better as well. Are those the stock tires? Also was it changed at all with the suspension/lift?

It’s the one we upgraded but everything is still the stock geometry. It might’ve been sitting on top of some thing, but you are correct. It does look lifted in the video. . Yes, they are the stock Trail Canyon tires with the method beadlocks and brass rings on front
