A friend sent this to me today, May 6, 2020. My big brother David Garrison is in it. I’ve never watched before and I actually didn’t know it existed. He passed away many years ago. I am at work;a corporate job which is something he was never interested in. It’s ironic. I sat at my desk and cried until mascara (and a little snot) ran down my face. Over the years I forgot what his face looked like. I have photos but they are blurry. I forgot what his voice sounded like. Now I will always be able to go back to this documentary and see and hear him.

There is a couple of people I know in this video that have moved on to the next world. Its very cool to see them as I remember them.

Hit while riding? I'm at a "corporate" job now but we go from store to store to store, so I bike. Nearly got hit twice last week. Like you can make 100k a year, but to do the job you gotta be friendly you know that happy smiling guy but what they don't know is 5 seconds ago you were just flying down a hill at the same speed as the cars on a bicycle! Like this is war out here. People are dying!

Man, the memories. I was a rookie messenger for Special T when this documentary came out, I was a long-haired young liberal messenger living in San Francisco. I look back on these days with a little fondness and a little craziness. I don’t live in San Francisco anymore and I do something entirely different, it’s really weird where life spits us out sometimes.

That's Bob at 7:00. He was was at Silver bullet in in 1988. I worked there for a stint. I don't know if any body is following this but I might be able to list those that were there. Dano or as Bob would say "Dainsy", Meech, Jeff or "Canucky" , JP , Rick B, Eric or "Airplane". Because I can't remember the names here are two others. "Yo" a girl messenger and one that I think of as the "Professor " because he reminded me so much of Laurent Fignon. If ya don't know who Laurent is that's what Googles for.

That's "Airplane" at 9:10. A good guy that was a martial arts bad ass. When you got a high five from the plane you felt for the next 5 mins

And of course "J Bone" . He has the mohawk and glasses. I didn't really get to know him but everybody loved him. Even if you didn't know him.

I wonder whatever happened to Molly Barker, the filmmaker. I remember her at Special T messenger service in 1993. I worked there, too. I was "26-Pete." Or, Ace Backwords, my street name... PS. Great job, Molly. You captured it.

I found a "western messenger " jacket in sf on the street around 2002 still wearing it. It's blue with yellow embroidered logo . I am curious to the year it was made ?? Nothing cuts out wind like that jacket !

looks so dated pre digital, bizarre. Cabs cant get it there quicker unless they could fly, and cheaper so it is an attractive alternative. what do they do when it rains?
