@@pedallinrawI’m pretty sure that is Dee Pop - Dimitri Papadapalous, drummer of the Bush Tetras. He also passed in 2015 or 2016 around the time Steve passed. Edit= it’s definitely him. Bush Tetras is the band he’s most known for and at the time of filming this they’d broken up but reformed in 2005 and still play today even though he’s gone. He played in many different bands but BT was his love.

i and so many others rode as youngsters and found a niche delivering. yes many were weak. some were real riders. i dig xmen and i rode before and during. money was motivation just like cabbies. ride and live.

What hit me, within the first five minutes, is that in 21 years doing the job in Melbourne Australia, I never once encountered a client, or building where you could bring your bike inside, or in a lift, not even goods lifts ,with you. Yet in NYC, at this time, it appeared to be the rule rather than the exception. I found this very surprising indeed.

I once had a client ring my company to complain that I'd bled on their timber floor from an open gash on my shin.....luckily they got my dispatcher on the phone, or my dispatcher was given the call by phone staff- "So, someone comes in, working for you, doing your dirty work, bleeding from an open wound, and all you thought of to do is ring and complain- you didn't ask if he's okay, you offered no help of any kind. Take a good hard look at yourself!" Phone SLAMMED down! I worked the rest of the day, by the way.

Wonder what happened to all these cats. I was around the messenger race scene in the early 2000s for a brief moment. Good people. Shout out to squid and Dagga. Two messengers that were very kind to me as a visitor.

traffic rules are for cars not bicycles

Yeah, if you don't fully exploit the advantages your maneuverability gives you, flow where the flow is, f--k staying in the gutter or bike lane, and yes, run reds to stay ahead of traffic, you get squashed. Bike lanes are for kids and slow riders scared of traffic- forcing riders who can actually REALLY ride to mix with them is dangerous to all concerned.

@@ronasaurus74 In Russia we have no bike lanes(!) at all, only bike paths, and even then very rarely, and they are poor. so you have to drive on the right along the highway, but this is possible according to the rules! Another thing is the stupid motorists with whom you occasionally have to fight :D It's cool in America. I envy!
