The first betta I ever had: On the contrary- (The betta I mentioned had plenty of space in the tank but would sit in the corner and sulk, I eventually got him a friend in the form of a Cory Catfish thinking that maybe that would make it better but all that happened was they would sit in the corner together. P.S RIP to the two fish I mentioned y'all will be missed)

My Betta is in a 36 gallon bowfront with 8 neon tetras and 8 cherry barbs. He loves chasing them around at least once a day. He has 3 "spots" in the tank where he likes to chill, 2 up top and 1 at the bottom.

While I would agree with most of the fish keeping community that 5 gallons is the safest bet for bettas, I don’t shame those putting them in 2.5-3g gallons so long as they keep the tank clean. Still better than watching them suffer in that cup 😢

Hey Chris, quick warning about indistructable rings, if you injure your hand and your finger swells, the ring becomes a problem if it can't be cut off

Most rings actually are built to have break-off points, that when struck correctly by a medical professional, they'll break. My husband's ring is super tough, but emts and doctors could break it if they needed to. I'm hoping Chris's ring is the same way. I've heard it's pretty standard

"glowlight skirt tetras" First time I heard them called that (i actually like to call them Glo Skirt Tetras) but agreed, they definitely deserve a nice big planted tank (Don't hate on them just for being manmade, they didn't ask to be this way; they are still living creatures and deserve to be treated as such!) Also really loved seeing that beautiful white betta happily enjoying their tank, has me excited to set up my old old 10 gallon as a nice home for a future betta

Hii! The moss by spore is just moss in a blender then you seed it by painting the Green smoothie all over the surfaces, you need a "dry start" you flood the aquarium like a month after you seed it. Is not dry though you need to spray daily. Hope it helped. Love your Channel ❤

My betta is in My 180 gal with a lot of other fish. He is super happy and will swim the whole 6ft all day. They are extremely active if they have the space to be so

I find it ironic that some people spend a lot of time trying to get a carpet and I accidentally make a carpet by putting seeds in the substrate and the redoing the tank thinking they wouldn’t work then like 3 weeks later I have a full carpet.

I get anxiety every time I watch these vids that I haven't done a water change, then I remember I have 5.5 gallon, filtered, heavily planted tanks with only 6 or less shrimp each that don't need water changes, but I pull out the API testing kit just to make sure.

My Betta is in 20 gal, and has no lamp because he sees his reflection on the glass. He's so much more aggressive than my last Betta lol. He spends all his time swimming through plants, building bubble nests, and just chilling

Honestly these fish tank review videos are actually great inspo for aquascaping! If you recall I have a little "emergency betta" tank, however it was added into the tank by my uncle before the tank was cycled:( Hope you have advice for fish-in cycling! Keeping my hopes high, your videos are once again such a big help:D

I've only ever used the fish-in cycle method and I assure you is much easier if done right. Just do regular water changes and the tank will balance itself over time. Add a little beneficial bacteria after each water change and test every so often for ammonia levels as an extra precaution, especially of the betta is sick and might not be able to handle slight fluctuations in ammonia and nitrites. If it's just the betta in there you'll have no problems because they aren't very messy fish. Definitely do more research into it if I've missed anything, I haven't done this for a good year now since my newest setup so I might be forgetting or misremembering somethings. Hope this helps, and good luck saving bettas :), I hope to do it one day too.

dose some beneficial bacteria if you can, and yes monitor for ammonia and nitrite levels and change the water as seen fit. betta are unfortunately (or fortunately) quite hardy for the most part. Not an excuse to use them as a fish-in cycle fish but their chances of surviuval are higher.

My Betta could in no way live in a cup. Just looking at him for 60 seconds and he has gone everywhere in the tank, he is young (less than a year) and VERY active (I breed bettas and keep my favorites). He is in a 6.8 gallon and he uses every bit of it. Same with my other bettas, (they are in either a 5 or 10 gallon)

The moss from spore tank, it could be dry started with mos blended in perhaps yoghurt and brushed onto the hardscape. I've seen some videos of scapers using this method to get moss growing everywhere.

I work for a business that goes into homes. I was in a house the other day and in the kids room was a 1/2 gal tank with so much fake plastic decorations that the betta in it had about a 1/2” all around it’s body to move. I offered them a spare 5 gal with all the necessities needed including substrate and real plants for free and they said no they didn’t want that much responsibility. 🤯I thought really, what do you do you think the fish is? So I explained that they need at least a 5 gal and the plastic plants will hurt the fish and at least remove those and if the fish gets sick to call me for any meds or treatment it will need. She said “it’s okay we’ll just throw it away and get a new one.” I’m trying to not come off judgmental because it’s a customer but I asked “what if your dog was sick, can I ask what you would do?” She said “take it to the vet of course.” Needless to say after another 15 minutes of trying to explain that a fish is an animal too I got no where.

Still in the beginning of the video, I just felt the need to mention: I've got my betta (a particularly peaceful, curious gentleman) in my 65 gallon community tank, and BOY does he make use of EVERY INCH of it! There's tons of things for him to rest on when he gets tired, too, but I've found him in all sorts of places, and he seems to like investigating (read: following around) all his tank mates lol.

My betta's in a 10 gallon tank because it was on sale. It wasn't that expensive so why not get it? My betta fish swims all over the place to every corner of the tank and is probably the most active fish I've ever owned. She seems to be enjoying the plants. She has been like that ever I put her into a new tank and I didn't discover it back when she was in a smaller tank (Shame on me 😭)

I'm using a five gallon clear plastic barrel shaped "water jug" with a spout on the bottom to make water transfers less stressful for my dude and to have less reflections to piss him off on his wall lmfao. It's only like 17$ at Walmart and honestly I think it's better for the fish in the end. Less flare ups and easier water changes

Chirs in the country I live occured a school shooting for the first time where 8 people died. The shooter was 14 years and the law here basically doesn't require him to go to jail because until 15 his parents are responsible for his actions. Now, a rational human being would ask why am I making this comment in 1 am. The reason is I'm trying to spread awareness of this tragedy.

I love betta fish so much and I have a 5 gallon dedicated to a betta fish. It has 3 large plants, a betta hammock, some mopani wood and a large rock. The tank also has Squidward house (which I know people in the fish keeping community frown upon, but as a precaution I scrubbed the paint off after I thought some came off when I bumped it during a water change) and my betta swims in and out of the eye holes and the door, and even sleeps in the house🥺. My other tank (9 gallons) is meant to be a community tank but I lost my dwarf gourami to dwarf gourami disease and I’m still shattered over it. Luckily the other fish are ok (bottom dwelling algae eaters) but now I need to figure out what to put in the tank to replace him. I’m thinking I want to try tetras or some other kind of schooling fish (if there’s even space) but I am not really sure. Any suggestions for what I could do? When it comes to deciding what I stock I’m super indecisive.

My betta lives with mystery snails and surprisingly is great with blue velvet shrimp (I was sweating bullets but he's a double tail veil dude so kinda slow and kinda namaste zen so just watches stuff) and he is zooming around my planted 10 gallon for fun. He gets the zoomies like a dog. He will swim up to the corner of the tank whenever my spouse and I turn on the tank light in the morning before work. He swims to my fingers when I'm fiddling around with the tank and since I got him 6 weeks ago from Petco (I work there I'm sorry I'm a dog groomer there but our aquatics department gets the most negative reviews for not selling people fish when they demand to take a betta home) his fin color has exploded. Tl;Dr bettas thrive in a community tank with live plants and a tank larger than a bowl your grandma serves the ambrosia salad in that no one wants at Thanksgiving.
